  1. I reached out last night to see if anything new is going on and all things still point to a decision in about a week and Indiana still in drivers seat. I am not saying anything set in stone but as of right now its looking good for Indiana

  2. I don't think the coaching connections to VT will be the deciding factor. That's just where the VT stuff is coming from. I'm still very confident that it'll be Indiana.

  3. Pretty cool. Have to imagine former player appearances will be more common now with Woody as the coach.

  4. If Archie contributed more to the field of 68 over the last few years, he’d still be at IU.

  8. Some believe he's a vajinah-sized man. Some believe he's a sized vajinah-man. (Some even believe he's a van-sized manjinah, but I don't believe that.)

  10. A year off to be very wealthy, semi-employed commentator and then back into coaching seems about right.

  11. Interesting. Very curious where he ends up. Seems to be following a Crean-like path, but with much less Crean-like success.

  13. Also I saw that Clowney got a new follower on Instagram that was connected to VT. That's it. I think that's been overblown on here because the VT people sure aren't going crazy about it other than mentioning it.

  14. Going with Landon Turner. When he started playing well during the 80-81 season, the team started winning and IU was able to hang another banner!

  16. Is anyone attending? I’m kinda excited that my daughter’s (who has been almost every year) boyfriend is going. He has no affiliation or interest in basketball, now’s my chance to set him right!

  17. No one who is really "in your corner" would push a player to go to Virginia Tech basketball over Alabama or Florida. Obviously I would like to see Clowney at IU, but I'm taking the Hoosiers out of this for this conclusion. Does someone with a straight face tell you that Virginia Tech is better than Nate Oats at Alabama? No one who is really interested in a kids enjoyment of college basketball would ever do that. On a side note I appreciate AP and Billingsley who have passed along what they are hearing no matter what the outcome is here.

  19. Will we be the scrappy Hoosiers of the last decade that hang around to get heartbroken in the end? Will we get destroyed like we did week 1? Will we win? I’m seeing PSU -12.5 as of posting. Give me the LEO Crew. GO HOOSIERS. L.E.O. Edit: As @IUc2016 mentioned, it was a ******* touchdown. If you disagree, log off.

  34. From Jerry Meyer - Here is a quick look at 2023 five-star prospect Jeremy Fears who received an offer from Michigan State over the weekend. A 6-1 point guard out of La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere School, Fears has also picked up offers this summer from Kansas, Memphis and Xavier. Illinois and Missouri had offered prior to the summer and are considered strong contenders in his recruitment. He has recently visited Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State. Fears, a tremendous passer with a strong all around game, is ranked No. 26 in the 247Sports Composite. Jeremy Fears scouting report: Not a point guard with length but has a strong sturdy build. Plays with poise and composure but has a quick burst to the basket going either direction. Uses change of pace and change of direction extremely well. Has a top notch ability to draw defenders and deliver a timely and accurate pass. His greatest strength is running a team as a floor general. Finishes well around the rim. Not a high riser but gets off the floor quickly jumping off two feet. Prefers the pass over the midrange jumper. Can keep defense honest with his jumper but there is room for improvement. Has a low release. Has potential to be a tough defender. Could be a more aggressive rebounder.

  35. For what it's worth, ESPN's FPI has Indiana finishing just under 5 win's this season with the most likely wins coming against Minnesota & Rutger at home. I still think we find a way to get to 6-6 w/winnable games still on the slate against Sparty (h), Rutger, (h) Maryland (r), Minney (h), Purdue (r), and dare I say Michigan (r)...

  37. Well that's reasonable! Doyle gives us two clear options: He's a high-major kid, or Doyle doesn't understand what he's watching. Many would pick 'Option 2'

  39. Luke Brown is in the top 5 all-time leaders in scoring. We all know Brown left for Blackford for the coach and Stetson??? Really?? Why go there in the first place? Blackford would not have near the wins if they didn't have Brown (even in a lower competitive basketball region). The future is not proven for him on a competitive, D-I basketball team. There is a reason that Luke Brown has not been recruited heavily. Luke Brown as an IU walk-on??? Embrace it or challenge it? Would I be worried if I'm Galloway, Leal, or Lander with Brown behind me looking at my minutes as a walk-on? From the standpoint of how well this team is put together and the minutes played are an absolute premium, I can see nothing good out of this. Conclusion CMW will work too hard to get this team back to relevance and this would be a huge locker room disruption. This will be a No for me.

  41. Personally, I've just been a bit off-put because of a certain poster who pimped this kid relentlessly on two different IU message boards. I mean, he nevr got interest frim IU much less an offer so why hundreds (it seems) of combined posts about him?

  46. Brazil ends the tournament with a 4-2 overall record. The Brazilians were beaten today 68-49 by Puerto Rico. Guyton played 18 min. and scored 9 pts. on 2-11 FG; 2-7 on 3s; 3-4 FT. She had 2 reb; 2 asst; 2 TO; 1 stl. For the 6 games in the tournment she shot 13-56 FG (23%); 11-30 on 3s (37%); 13-19 FT (68%). She averaged 4 reb; 2 asst; 3 TO; 1 stl. She just turned 15 in May and is starting her sophomore year of high school. Remains to be seen if we ever take an active interest in her.
