  1. If Jerome Hunter wanted to have a breakout game tonight, that would be totally fine with me.

  2. My friend and I will be there tonight! We usually get a six pack of upland and a small pizza from mother bears and eat from the parking lot to reenact a tailgate, but my friend is concerned about the cold and we may have to sit that tradition out this time. I am hoping I can convince him that some things, like traditions, are more important than feeling your fingers. Go Hoosiers!

  5. Hey ya'll! Ricky checkin' in, As most of ya'll know, we take on the number 17 team in the country tonight.. that team is absolutely stacked with hoopers.. Dragan Bender, Tony Stewart, Mike Tomlin, Didi Gregorius, Eric Robertson.. let's be honest with ourselves.. the amount of talent on that roster is facked. Are we going to win tonight? No. Are we good? No. But we have heart, and that's what Hoosiers basketball is all about, baby. I've got FSU takin' this one at The Hall; 91-12. Love ya'll! - Barrel Rick, 2019

  11. An important lesson to learn as an adult is that your words carry weight and cause impact whether or not you're willing or able to understand that. Running around a family environment using hate speech and calling people derogatory slurs is not appropriate nor acceptable. Representing your university and team by wearing your university's apparel while saying those things? You've now disrespected those individuals with your words and actions while acting superior to those around you. Is this a heinous crime? No. Is it some immature kids acting like assholes and feeling entitled to act that way? Yes. Those attitudes and behaviors are some of the worst character traits one can possess, and a coach or parent would cause greater harm not ensuring a lesson was learned. 1-2 game suspension is absolutely in-line. Granted, I'm someone who would suspend for 10+ games for a DUI, but 3 games for marijuana. The difference for me is the disrespect for others and potential to cause harm to others versus just breaking the rules.

  13. GAMEDAY This is exactly what Archie's been building this roster for. We can send waves of guys on the inside, and we can absorb a few fouls as well. Last year, we'd have Juwan starting the 5, and then get hit with two fouls early. Trayce should be the best player on the floor, but he won't be on an island out there, either. Let's see our juniors and senior(s) step up and play 40 minutes. Vegas and the analytics sites all like IU, but the overwhelming fan consensus is that FSU should win. Maybe this will be our coming out party. I'd like to see us win the game through two halves of good basketball. Put some folks on notice and get this team some confidence.

  15. Hate speech is a statement intended to demean and brutalize another, or the use of cruel and derogatory language on the basis of real or alleged membership in a social group.[1] Hate speech is speech that attacks a person or a group on the basis of protected attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.[2][3] I mean, if definitions, subjects, adjectives, etc aren't real, then I suppose you are correct.

  16. So unless someone gets hurt, then people shouldn't be suspended? Based on what? Their actions reflected poorly not only on themselves, but their coach and the university "Have a talking" has no consequences and to me is soft. In my job (and I imagine most people's jobs), I could get fired for talking to someone like that and if I wasn't, my professional reputation could be tarnished. I think teaching young men that their actions and words have consequences will set them up for future success. I know some crowds are all about who cares about "feelings" but in the real world, words matter just as much as actions and we are all playing by the same rules. So the coach is having them sit a game to think about what happens when you act like a jerk to other people trying to do their job. I hope they learn from it.

  20. First opportunity for a Quad 1 win for this team. Next couple will be more opportunities for quad 1 or 2 wins with a Nebraska game in between. Which ever way this goes it’s still just 1 game. As we saw last year gaining Quad 1 wins early doesn’t always guarantee success. And other teams showed losing Quad 1 games early didn’t guarantee failure. I’ve seen FSU play about 6 times this year. He plays 10-12 guys comfortably. They are prone to turn the ball over just as much as they are prone to turn whoever they are playing over. They are not a great shooting team but they play hard and force the action. Should be a great test for IU. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  22. With a fanbase our size, there will always be disagreements from within. Luckily for us, we have Sam Story to unite us in one collective eye roll. However, I didn't realize FSU is playing their third game in five days. I don't know which way I'm leaning in prediction now.

A part of me also wants them playing in Florida for recruitment reasons. A lot of the players would really enjoy going back home playing in a bowl.

  28. Then get bashed for not recruiting the best talent in Indiana. That makes total sense. You recruit the best talent that you have a legit shot with until they tell you no. If Lander hasn’t told Archie and Co. “no” you keep recruiting him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  31. Worked in athletics ops...we tipped for everything. Don’t care where it goes, but when you order 100 pizzas for a team, throwing a couple hundred dollars more to the crew seemed right. Obviously if they delivered, but even if we went to pick it up. Those types of orders are brutal to fill and area businesses usually sighed when we called because while they were about to make a bunch of money, they were also about to have a rough day. This case was probably a manager making a huge whoopsie. We actually had that happen once and went back to the restaurant and hand delivered a tip. It happens. Count me in the group that never tips for my own carryout food though.

  34. Holding young men accountable for their actions is a good way to make sure they aren't jackasses when they are older. I figured in today's world where coaches are constantly criticized (for good reason) for letting their players get away with lots of things that this would be looked at positively. This clearly doesn't rise to the level of other things happening right now, but that doesn't mean that it should go without punishment. For whatever reason you are adverse to it but I think a game suspension for behaving like they did is an appropriate response and sends a message.
