LamarCheeks Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Today could create some real chaos for the CFP committee. Texas is winning big. Imagine if Michigan, FSU and Alabama win. For four slots, you'd have ... Unbeaten Michigan, Washington and FSU One-loss Georgia, Texas and Alabama Georgia would've lost its league title game. Alabama would've beaten top-ranked Georgia. Texas already beat 'Bama. Then there's one-loss Ohio State -- but since they're not playing this weekend, I have a hard time seeing them as a factor. Would the committee actually leave the SEC out? Or would it leave an unbeaten team out? MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

It would be neither, right? The 3 unbeatens and Bama. Unless you’re counting UGA as unbeaten, which is fair but complicated. I am very ready for 12 teams. Quote

I guess to answer your question, no I can’t see them leaving the SEC out. UGA might also just come out and make this all moot lol. Quote

The commitee will do their duty and install a SEC team no matter what. They would more likely put in 2 $EC teams if Bama wins and leave out an undefeated team than exclude the $EC go iu bb and Hardwood83 2 Quote
TTT Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I remember many now (losing track of time meaning more than several years ago) that SMU received the death penalty in football. At 10-2 that is proof there is always hope…in the American Athletic Conference. Quote

Hoosierfan222 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 With how Texas looked today, there shouldn’t be a world where they’re out and Bama are in. if Bama wins and FSU wins, as crazy as it sounds, there shouldn’t be an SEC team in Banksyrules, RaceToTheTop and thebigweave 3 Quote
TTT Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Jogging my memory…After looking it up February, 1987. I also thought about 40 years ago. Closer to 37 years. Coach Ron Meyer and Bobby Collins along with Eric Dickerson and winning SMU was pretty big in earlier and mid 1980’s. I think what they did was peanuts compared to what is now legalized today. Quote
