TheWatShot Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 The ref who picked up the flag when McCarthy got pulled down by his facemask wanted Purdue to win. Loaded Chicken Sandwich and J34 2 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 In all seriousness, that game (minus the outcome) was every Purdue fan's wet dream. It was right up their "spoilermaker" alley (damn I'm so sick of hearing that word). Absolutely nothing to lose, ultimate underdog against a team that had some key guys missing and was undoubtedly thinking about the upcoming CFP games, a big play in the first half that got everybody buzzing, O'Connell having the game of his life after the death of his brother, along with some shady officiating (like the play I mentioned above). People like to sh*t on Jim Harbaugh, but he's done a phenomenal job the last two years, especially keeping his team composed in that environment tonight. go iu bb and J34 2 Quote

Deep down Purdue is an average program. They get a wild amount of calls liks this. Its weird. That fake punt they probably didn't convert either. But since the refs were super eager to give them the first down on the field it was too hard to overturn, like most reviews where they try to figure out where a guy was down and the ball was. Quote

I think that had more to do with the defense Michigan was playing. Michigan had trouble with Purdue's receivers all game, and was perfectly content to let Purdue keep it on the ground and keep the clock moving by that point. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Hugh Freeze goes from Liberty to Auburn. And now, Jamey Chadwell (a hot name for some time) goes from Coastal Carolina to Liberty. Since Liberty pretty much prints money, I'm sure his bank account will see significant growth, but football-wise, Coastal to Liberty seems very lateral. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Chadwell being mentioned as a candidate for much bigger openings in the past. P.S. -- It also means CTA won't be going to Liberty. Guess they weren't ready for LEO! IUc2016 1 Quote

Agree from the Michigan perspective, however you don't let the clock keep running, while trying to make up 17 points. Unless you're expecting to gain 10 ypc to stop clock each time. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Wondering if Brohm might pull a Roy Williams. When Guthridge retired, UNC went after him lock, stock and barrel. But at that time, he said staying at Kansas was the "right thing." Later, after the Matt Doherty fiasco, ol' Roy felt a calling to come home. After turning down UL a few years back, perhaps Brohm will feel such a calling this time. If so, I'd be worried. PU has a history of poaching our coaches (re: Versyp); I'd really hate to lose CTA to the Toiletmakers. Really -- ahem -- I would. Would be a real shame to see the LEO truck pack up and head north ... Stuhoo, Class of '66 Old Fart and bigrod 3 Quote
