Congrats to Darius on his college choice. His recruitment has been a blast to follow closely. The over-sign in my opinion was never going to be an issue, and after these first 2 games I think there will be roster turnover. I fully expect CAM to recruit in the late signing period. Maybe Courtney Ramey

I think a majority of "US" should've known when we saw Vandy on Langford's final 3. I mean.. it's common sense right? haha

I think once we accepted the Phinisee commitment we (the staff) had a pretty good feel of where DG was going.

Duke knew. They knew long ago. I think we did too and just stayed in the race anyway because of Romeo.

I said this at the time of the Phinisee commitment. I think it holds true.

While today is disappointing, this is why we should be excited about Archie.Not to look backwards, but Crean would have had no backup plan at the point and we would have ended up with some recruit ranked 280 from Louisiana after missing on Garland. Archie not only has a backup plan, but he's already signed/sealed, and he's a highly ranked in-state kid.

Not saying you were one of them. But several posters held it against Crean that needed a 3 year rebuild.

Good question.

It shouldn't take 3 years at Indiana in today's day and age.

It looks like it's on pace for 3 year build though.

We'll just have to see how next year goes.

I do agree with that last part about the Garlands ruining it today. It only made matters worse. And if ANY media member since ESPN hardly made any reports until today were the ones leading to spinning it for excitement they are probably pissed they didnt get the commit story. That is one thing that makes me smile right now. We are in for a battle with Romeo but lets not all assume he is not coming here just from this. I will be interested to see if Shittu commits in the next few days now. Could end up being Garland alone or with both of them. Time will tell.

Again hometown and close to family. Mom works there. I said before other factors sometimes Trump going to a "basketball " school. I shared at least 10 top 10 recruits since 2012 who chose "non basketball " schools a few days ago. They all chose those schools for different factors. Not everyone thinks like you think they should.

Since ESPN broke the story Darius went from thousands watching the commitment to just a handful. I’m happy for the kid and following his heart but the publicity and interest just isn’t there for Vanderbilt.

If we get Romeo, no way it's a three year build. A team with Romeo, Junior De'Ron, and others should compete at a very high level.

I’ll still root for Darius, just seems like a great kid. Now it’s on to Romeo and focusing on the season! Guys we are in a great place and not getting one recruit doesn’t mean a thing. We have an elite coach and recruiting. We will get our 5 stars and top 30 kids. Some of you are way too jaded
