Popular Post IUrocker Posted March 29, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2018 Romeo got to see first hand what will always happen if he goes to Vanderbilt to play with Darius....Darius trying to be the show and making stupid decisions instead of passing to a wide open Romeo. Wasn’t the smartest thing to do in that game if you want Romeo to join you at Vandy. I also noticed that Romeo shined the most and made most of his points in that game when Darius was on the bench away from him, not stealing the spotlight. I don’t think any of the 11 assists Darius had involved Romeo getting a bucket, maybe one... (did you notice that as well, Romeo??) Justin Kotter, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, Hoosierfan2017 and 6 others 9 Quote

yogisballin Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Someone sent this to me this morning to look at. Is Ryan Wheeler an asst at New Albany? If so, he had a few interesting tweets during that final exchange last night plus some back-and-forth. https://twitter.com/Wheelerallday For those with twitter, expand that bottom tweet and read the 30+ responses. He doesn't say specifically Romeo is going anywhere, but easily comes across as pro-IU and pro-Archie.I saw that late last night. Wonder if he really an assistantSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

HinnyHoosier Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/mcdonald-s-aa-game-prospects-predict-peers-college-decisions Interesting responses from two of the Kansas guys... HinnyHoosier Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 For anyone who didn't get to see the game last night. Or, if you're like me, you forgot to set the blasted DVR and only saw the last 3 minutes of bad offensive possessions by two particular players. http://www.insidethehall.com/2018/03/29/highlights-photos-of-romeo-langford-at-the-2018-mcdonalds-all-american-game/ Quote

Stuhoo Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I still get a real sense that the players who are most like Romeo, and the ones that he can easily see as teammates who he can easily connect with, are Justin Smith and Rob Phinisee. When I hear Romeo Langford interviewed and then I hear those two Hoosiers interviewed I can't help but thinking those three are quiet, serious kids who want to be on the same side of a battle. darB s'tI Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I believe the Grimes prediction carries some weight. People talk about RL & QG's relationship and how Grimes was drawing him to Kansas. All the Vandy predictions are surrounded by him following 2 other players to college, and I don't see that happening. Drew just has this coating of slime on him, and it's hard to turn a blind eye to that. It's IU. Iugradman and lillurk 2 Quote

For those that don't know, online gaming is HUGE. It has really taken over for what social media used to be, for guys anyway. Kids all share their "gamer tag," and then at night they get online and they chat and play games together. In the past few months, there have been reports that Romeo games with TJD on a regular basis. He games with Darius all the time. Rob Phinisee has started gaming recently, but as Romeo says, "he's not good." An article this week just said that Romeo and Louis King play video games together all the time. Previous interviews, Romeo said Grimes is his best friend, and then as an afterthought threw in Darius as well. What I'm saying is that Louis King, who has no skin in the game but is tight with Romeo, says Indiana. Grimes, who is a best friend of Romeo and does have skin in the game, says Indiana. Also very interesting that Bazley and Jones both note that Romeo has been hanging with the Kansas guys all week, and yet they think he's going to Indiana. Otherwise, I refuse to take much from this beyond reinforcement that nobody knows. The responses are almost comically spread out over the three schools. Off the subject but yes gaming is so huge right now. My 12-year-old and his friends play all the time. I'm pretty sure fortnite is going to be the death of him or me. He said last night I wish I could play fortnite with Romeo we would win for sure. Then said I've heard he is good but I'm a little better. Some days I just sit and listen to what he & all of his friends are saying. I will say they communicate better with the gaming system than they ever have on the basketball court. I get it, these are high school kids and they live in their own little bubble, but it's so irritating the way the guys that picked Vandy act like there's only talent in their own class and only if a guy is a McDonald's AA. One guy picked Vandy and said something to the effect of "At IU he'll have to carry the load, but at Vandy he'll have lots of talent around him with Garland and Shittu." I'll take a senior Juwan Morgan, and even a sophomore Justin Smith, over a freshmen Shittu (even if he was fully healthy) every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Heck, Jerome Hunter could have every bit as good of a freshmen year as Shittu. IU is a way more talented roster. Hoosierfan2017, HoosierSadaseci, TXHoosierDaddy and 23 others 26 Quote

The value of a 4th year Juwan Morgan and several other experienced players is seemingly ignored by some of those guys. The other thing I noticed from that box score is that it must have felt foreign to Reddish to only get 10 shots up for the entire game. Skidmarks and Iugradman 2 Quote

Those kids are good, but they are still freshmen. Absolutely true. The value of being surrounded by experienced players that have had time to learn what the college game is all about, learn the respective systems, and become physically prepared for Div 1 basketball, is greater than being able to play with other (inexperienced) freshmen. Logically the choice at this point should be between us and KU - both have advantages over the other and I'd like to believe we hold an advantage. My greatest source of optimism is that the Langfords have obviously been methodical in making this decision and that Mr. Langford sure seems to indicate a preference for IU. That said, who knows?
