What are our insiders hearing about Blackmon's knee injury?  I heard Crean interviewed on BTN and he was vague but it did not sound good. If this is long-term at all this will be a huge loss on the offensive side of the ball. Anybody have any inside info?????

I agree. Seems an injury to a high scoring 5-star/McDAA player would get more attention.

 

I have griped about his defense---but I sure don't want to lose JBJ.  He brings instant offense to the team.

different knee than off season surgery/scope. Not sure how it relates to HS injury of knee but different than most recent injury/treatment. Expected RoJo to shine in his increased role. Boy, was I wrong there, he played terrible today. Hopefully that was a fluke.

OG going to be a beast if he can develop his role. I think that is part of our recent team's problems. Our 11-12 teams knew and played the roles as a team. Recent teams seem so confused as to who is doing what.

Makes sense but they are being very vague and he has a history of knee issues.. Saying they are still evaluating etc... If he comes back quick and nothing major wrong it will be very fishy

I don't think Crean is that dumb.  He is still in hot water from all the other off field incidents.  If there was another, and he tried to cover up a suspension with a fake injury it would just get him in even more trouble.

Crean recently preached about toughness etc, I know it is not his style to bench a player for lack of effort or anything like that but could something else (besides injury) have happened at practice?

 

And I really don't think Crean is dumb, but I definitely wouldn't say he is above trying to cover up any issues!!!!!! Especially knowing his job may potentially be on the line. I think he is smart enough to do anything he can to try to keep the prestigious position he has.

Well, I think it's safe to assume that he only has two. If it's not the one from Last off-season, then it would be the one from HS, which would seem to be more serious. Of course, it's all speculation until someone says something definitive. With all the HIPAA regs, we may never know.

Not sure CTC is any good at 'sending messages'. And there's too much for him to risk pulling something stupid like that.

He could have just said something to the effect of it being an internal team issue.

At this point the best thing would be for him to just be honest.  It's rumored he tried to sweep Troy and Stan's first failed drugs tests under the rug, if he did it again it should be a guarantee that he's gone.

 

Frankly, if I was AD and found out he tried it I'd be tempted to fire him on the spot.

I suspect the staff is trying to keep the injury quiet as much as possible so JBJ doesn't become known for having bad knees. Could hurt his future. (Too Late?) Though Crean never gives much info on injuries. Hope James comes back healthy for his sake and so we have no built in excuses for a failure.

We should be hearing something more on this soon.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's good news.  We don't need anymore bad news.
