Fulkme15 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I'll take a 7 point win against an NCAA tourney team. It definitely wasn't pretty, but maybe the kind of win a team needs to get them on the right track. IUsafety and waitingon6 2 Quote
mdn82 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 When IU broke through the first time to get under 10, then ND got it back up to 13 due to that dumb Blackmon, Williams back to back sequence the crowd was pretty hard on the kids during the timeout. IMO that was when the tide changed out of the timeout. MikeRoberts 1 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 It was in my opinion a must win. Very odd game because it didn't seem like we played good enough to win but we did. We were lucky notre dame missed some wide open looks. Now we have a opportunity to put together a nice string of wins.couldnt you say every team is lucky from other teams missing open looks. I'm watching the 2nd half now and just watched Blackmon miss a layup and then a put back layup Quote

But yes ultimately you need the competition to miss shots to win Quote

I always felt we could make a run against notre dame because defensively from the games I've watched, they gave up some leads. Just once in one of these neutral court matchups I would love for us to play a complete game so I can watch in peace. Quote

yogisballin Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 OG for more minutes!! TB obviously started his "pouting" or whatever u wanna call that. Still not impressed. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
colonel06 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Did Tom Crean out coach Mike Brey?!? Yes he did no doubt . In the 2nd half Crean took the game from Brey in the coaching game. I personally feel Brey gave the Hoosiers good bulletin board material by saying that by far ND best team in state, that they play better than the rest of the tourney teams in the Fieldhouse, etc. Quote
biteoftheapple Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I liked Rojos all game play, but I thought Hartman changed the game, and Troy put us over the top. rae vogel and Str8Hoosiers 2 Quote

incrediboy Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Very encouraged by two things: 1) Hartman appears to be getting into form after his early injuries. When he's healthy and strong, we're a far better team 2) OG no doubt gained a ton of confidence today. An effective ninth man in the rotation makes big difference over 8 in the conference. My Christmas wish list: That Troy would play more to win and less for highlights That Blackmon would work half as hard on his defense as his offense. akhosrof Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I love Thomas Bryant's passion. The kid is a beast. That back door pass on the give and go to Troy on the first possession in the second half was a thing of beauty. Sure, his defense could use some work but at least he hustles. On offense every time we gave Bryant the ball it opened up opportunities or ended with a good look. There were points in this game where I shook my head and said "what talented big man in his right mind would want to play for Crean?" Bottom line... Get Bryant the ball! Yogi'sBicep Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 After the 1st game I've watched this season; JBJ is a deficit to the team Troy Williams is out of control, does more bad than good Yogi is not liked by anybody, especially TB TB is a stud, needs the ball more(Zeller days), has anger issues RoJo is our best player Collin Hartman should start Max Bielfledt is solid so is NZ3 OG is gonna be really good Crean was miserably bad first half Second half, somehow wasn't terrible coaching.--decent. Out coached Brey. Notre Dame was too worried about being consistent to make a shot in the last 10 min Our run and gun style wore them down. Any team that isn't necessarily depthy & doesn't slow us down will run out of gas. Good for us. Too many guys want to shoot & be induviduals. Need to make the team watch Hoosiers, and consider the 3 pass rule before shooting 1-3-1 should be our D. Terrible 2-3 & disgraceful man to man. We ever press? Should consider it.
