Crossroads Classic Pregame Thread

Nothing else going on this week. Let's discuss where we're watching, what we're drinking, and why we're going to win.

Watching at home on the couch. Beer if we are playing well and scotch whiskey if things go south. I'm anticipating drinking quite a few brews but we'll see.

The hope is to get to .500.  I am currently 0-1 in live attendance of the Classic.

 

Last time I went Butler beat us in overtime.

It's really hard for me to get excited about IUBB anymore. I will probably watch this at home on the couch with Sam Adams. I can't discuss why I think we will win bc I don't think we will

Watching at home in theater room while drinking not your fathers root beer. 2 teams that are nearly identical IU 23rd ken pom and 4 adjusted offense and 109 adjusted defense) Notre Dame 22nd ( 2nd adjusted offense and 133 adjusted defense). So of course this will end up being a defensive grinder. Lol

Buddy has tickets, so I'll be there.  Not sure where before hand, as I'll be coming in from the Haute early.  Hope they put together a complete game.

I usually go to this event. 1st year not going in a while. I expect both games to be great. Still wish I was going but wasn't motivated enough to buy tickets. Will watch at home in theatre room with family. Might need to be sober or I will curse the relatives out of the room or fall asleep. Neither a good look.

I'll be setting the DVR and watching when I get time. To be honest I haven't watched the past 2 games. With the holidays I'm spending my time with family and friends. When I get some free time next week I will watch it.

I told a guy at work that I feel this is almost a must win game for us. Sure we could recover and still make the tourney but confidence and moral will be at a all time low if we don't come through here i feel

I went last year, but just can't feel the same motivation to make the trip this year.  I just can't get excited about this year's team.  Based on our history over the past several years, I feel like I've already read the last chapter of the book and know how the story ends.  But on a more positive note, should we stub our toe against ND, cupcake Kennesaw State will ease the pain.  This is one bad team.  Their record is 3 - 8, and check out their team stats.  http://www.ksuowls.com/cumestats.aspx/?path=mbball&year=2015 That game has 100+ points for us written all over it.

but if we win we could go into conference play on a 5 game winning streak. If we look good beating notre dame confidence could grow and who knows after that. Just a thought.

I'll be at a family Christmas gathering so probably won't be able to watch. The Purdue vs Butler matchup will be the marquee game in this year's classic and honestly I would love to see that from a purely basketball standpoint. Who would have thought?

Will be attending. I have two brother in laws that live in Indy, so it is always a good weekend regardless of outcome.

 

One Bro-in-law is a PU fan though so a IU loss and a PU win could make for a very long and drunk weekend.

I can't decide if Brey has a masterful game plan and we look like fools or we hit a bunch of threes and Crean pulls out a near must win. Either way I'm bettin 5 turnovers from Troy.

Notre Dame is going to be tough, they're a fundamentally sound and experienced team with Jackson and Auguste leading them.

 

It will just depend on how James and Troy play, they're usually indicative of how we do. 

 

It's all about what you can do when the shots (3s) aren't falling.  Can we play good defense against their pick and rolls?  I don't know, definitely a tough matchup for us.

Butler v Purdue should be awesome. Can the undersized  Bulldogs handle Purdue's bigs? I bet Holtman will have a plan.

Maybe I'm mellowing in my old age but I don't HATE this Purdue team. I can watch them. Doesn't seem to be a Sheffler, Martin or Cardinal on the roster that I just despise.

It's really hard for me to find much affection for the Boilers, but I can appreciate how they play. Butler is in the same category for me but their coach is doing a nice job with that team. I just want IU to get back to a style of play that I can enjoy watching.
