Iowa vs Indiana Official Post Game Thread

Recommended Posts

Tonight has brought me out of BTB retirement. I've been on the fence with Crean for the past 2 years. Not defending him against haters, just against overly dumb comments about him. I'm done defending him at all.

Quite possibly the lowest night of my IU fandom. I was ready to leave with about 5:30 left but couldn't do it. I knew we would come back and make it a game. By 2:00 I had given in. Given in on the game and more so on our leader. I walked out of the Hall feeling helpless. Watching whatever that was tonight was the most disappointed I've been since the last season of Prison Break. People were yelling for Brad Stevens during quiet times (there were plenty of those) in the building. The pictures of the crowd put out by the media before the game were misleading. Once the game got going the student section was as full as it has been with the exception of Maryland, and we stood the entire game (unlike some other games). The team got everyone into it a few times just to let us down not-so-softly with a turnover or foul.

I'll be back Saturday holding up 3 fingers every time we chuck one, I'll take in the 1974-75 team ceremony in lieu of senior day, and you better believe I'll go nuts when Troy dunks on someone, but I have zero interest in seeing Tom Crean on the Hoosier sideline in November 2015 unless he's handing Yogi a cup of Gatorade and folding his candy stripes at the end of the bench.

Missed the Hova. Long live the Hova. Great post.

Well this was pretty easy to take I guess... I've checked out for the season. I will watch but I have no more emotion left to give this season.

I'm sorry Yogi and Libby.. yall deserve better than this in my opinion. Yogi is a top 3 hoosier favorite for me and I hate that he is in this program right now.

Tom Crean is the worst coach in the big ten.. unbelievable. Pat Chambers would wreck shop at IU.

This is exactly how i feel. I didn't know how i felt about Crean until lately. I've given up. I think the late season skid is do to our leaders (Troy and Yogi) seeing through the gimmick that Crean is, the yelling, the clapping, the god awful hair. If we want either to stay, Crean needs to go.

I might be a "sunshine pumper", but the seasons not over. Get it in gear, quick.

The thing is there has been an obvious need to switch things up over the last 10 games and there hasn't been any apparent attempt to make any change. They are just playing terrible and I see us getting blown out by MSU at home, maybe winning a game in the Big Ten tourney and getting an NIT invite

Would love to give Chambers one season at IU to watch what he could do with talent.

I get that Chambers is an OK coach, but I really hope you're kidding. This would not fly with fans or alums. We need to shell out the big bucks and just spend the money for an A+ coach. Don't care what it costs! Get it done!

Great post bud, we will all get through this together it will just take some time. Hopefully during your time at IU you get to witness greatness at some point. Fans like you deserve it.

I feel bad for Hova and other passionate young IU fans. They deserve better basketball than this Crean-coached garbage.

Hugs.

Laz, I feel the same as you. Our students get to watch this crap of basketball to remember the best years of their lives. You all know how I have felt and the writing was on the wall many seasons ago for me. To see that picture of an empty Assembly Hall gives me emotions I haven't had in a long while for Indiana basketball. Emotions like I will always love and care trmendously for this program and the players and fans of it. Sad is a great word for me also as I am so past the mad part. Great coaches will line up to get their chance to be at the greatest basketball university and state in our country. Shoot for the moon...1 Stevens 2 Donovan 3 Hoiberg 4 Marshall in that order. I would bet we wouldn't get past # 2. Go Big Red!

Better happen fast, or I'm going to have to start failing classes to buy myself a year...or 2. :)

I've been a fan since 74 and this might be the first time I've stop wanting to watch the team. And I don't think it's all on Coach Crean, but enough is enough.

We need Brad Stevens sooner than later. I'm convinced he's the answer. If not, I would go grab the best HS coach in Indiana and give him a shot. I'm guessing they can teach basic defense principles or talk up a team to play hard.

I've been a Crean supporter and I'm just sad at this point.

I don't know how or why, but this team getting ranked mid-season, was the worst thing that ever happened to them. I mean the day they got ranked was the day they died. What happened that made them fall so unbelievably fast? I just can't wrap my mind around the last 10 games. Dumbfoundead.

imho, @Purdue game knocked us out pretty good. Then losing Collin Hartman finished us off basically.
