IMO, this is a game that Nevada could really, really use.  They don't have much in terms of marquee wins (best are home victories over Boise St and Utah St) and after this game they really have three games of any value that could move the needle.

Fighting Pitinos with the ball, knotted at 94 with 16 sec left. Officials’ review results in a flagrant on the Lobos big man in the back court. Nevada likely to win on a flagrant 1 but crazier things have happened.

It probably (hopefully) felt less intentional for him in the heat of the moment, but you just can’t swing your elbows like that let alone extend your arm into a guy’s chest. Wrap the ball up, pivot and step through guys until help comes. Before replays there was a 50/50 chance at clearing out the old fashioned way without penalty. In the era where officials can do an entire film session on whether or not you breathed on your opponent too hard, you can’t take that chance.

Pretty sure he screwed himself by calling timeout which gave the refs time to look at it.   If he doesn’t call timeout and they let that play out and they either win or go to 3OT I don’t think the refs would have looked at it.     I could be wrong but I think that’s why he was so mad.  He yelled to the ref I’m the one who called timeout.

Duke unranked, only 1 game above .500 in the ACC, and losing to teams like VT. They're also only 4-6 away from home. I love it.

How long does Duke keep getting the Nike boost?  Infinity and beyond?  Or how does that work exactly?

Glad to see their and kentucky's results regressing to the mean.  

Both still landing whichever 5 star they want (mostly)

I'm rooting for Duke to fall flat on their face. Scheyer is probably a nice guy and all, but I wouldn't be upset if he led the downslide. 

He seems so entitled, and has such a "I walk on water" look to him.

I imagine it will be a while yet. Probably a few years of mediocrity for them to start to lose their sheen. Might go faster for Duke than UK since Scheyer hasn't managed to establish a reputation of putting players in the NBA yet like Calipari has (deserved or not).

Me too. I want them to crash and burn. I'm kind of hoping that it's slow enough that they don't fire Scheyer and hire a better coach for a while so that by that point they've lost a lot of the prestige built up under Coach K.

Kansas lost three straight. Duke doesn’t look good. Kentucky and North Carolina both have struggled this season at times. It’s the nature of cbb especially if you lose a couple starters.

If Duke is not getting calls like that, then they're in trouble no matter who the coach is. It may be better for Amaker that he is not there when the karma they've earned comes back to them.
