BGVille Hoosierfan Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Franklin’s minutes/role diminished immensely at the end of the season and I had heard he wasn’t happy about it but didn’t expect him to ever really transfer.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Brass Cannon Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I really hope we don’t have another transfer. The 8 returning guys we have left all seemed to have a role on the team Hardwood83, Class of '66 Old Fart and BGVille Hoosierfan 3 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Objectively he is the last one you should want to go. He's a Senior, so no scholarship impact with him staying and was the team's best 3pt shooter- an area of huge need on this team. He's not All Conference material, but he's a team player and seems like a good guy. So unless there is some extremely unexpected incoming player to upgrade his role, Al leaving hurts IU. woodenshoemanHoosierfan, MoyeNeeded and MikeRoberts 2 1 Quote

Franklin can fill in those shoes just fine. Or even Lander playing at the 2. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
MikeRoberts Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 If Franklin leaves we very well could have a complete void for that class in a year. Messes up class balance and the notion of needing to get old and stay oldSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ebridges24, Loaded Chicken Sandwich, HoosierAloha and 1 other 4 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 My cable company (yes, I'm one of the dinosaurs who still has it) is offering a few free premium channels during the pandemic. So last night, I watched the Showtime doc on the 1976 unbeaten team for the first time. Although it came out three years ago, I hadn't seen it. I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed at the end. ... I still remember the title game against Michigan: I was 7 years old and watched with my mom (a big sports fan and IU alum) -- she was in tears that night. I don't know what's more amazing: that those fellas went through the entire season without losing a game -- or that the previous year's team was even better! pumpfake, ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

Also, and to have one of best players (Bobby W.) leave the game in the first half and not return - yet still win convincingly. I think Wilkerson said (as of a few years ago) that he still hadn't watched the tape of the game. Quote

I’m in the very small minority of liking Shaka smart, so I see them as a fringe top 35 team next year.
