I have posted this many times the last few years, but Chuck is an icon and one of the most recognizable PA voices in the country. Many other universities have gone to these screaming Howler Monkeys that shriek FOOOOOR THRRREEEEEEEEEEEE !!! and similar throughout the game. It just seems bush league and needy. Let's just hope IU makes a decision reflective of the historic and classic nature of our venue. I am not saying another Chuck...but something in between with a shred of dignity.

This IMHO comes down to: How ready is TJD Can X keep his head when painter puts someone on him specifically to get under hs skin Trey pu is very good and deep but not a lot of IQ there and IU can take advantage of that.

Durr needs to play. We need him next year when TJD and likely Race are gone.

And yet we can. I understand the frustration but the first team AA was gone until MW showed up. TJD cannot do it himself when he has two guys hanging all over him. We lost because we couldn't break 2 2 1, 1 2 2 and M2M presses. MUCH better guard play is coming which is something else we would not have right now had Scott not pulled the trigger when he did.

Let's make sure we keep some perspective. I hate to see them play poorly and lose just as much as anyone else, but the fact is that this season is that play in football when the defense jumps and you get a free play and the ultimate outcome is less important than we might feel like right now. Remember, Scott pulled the trigger on AM a full year ahead of what anyone thought would happen. The coaching trio comes in and immediately retains TJD for a season, gets some transfers that can shoot better and then recruits very very well out of the gate. Yes, our guard play sucks but we have guards coming in. If not for Scott's stones we would all now be watching AM in his last season with no TJD, no shooters and no recruits coming. We would have won four games by now and next year we would be watching what we are now...at best. This year is a freebie.

I have always wanted to see the color taken out of the logo in TAH similar to the way Crisler has/had theirs. The IU floor is iconically traditional and the current logo distracts from that IMO.

I agree. We spend one hell of a lot of time running up and down 67/37 especially when FB and BB overlap. The Sampson era enraged me, the clappy era wore me down and the Miller era was just a rumor. MW has us hopeful again and in my view we are a year ahead of schedule as no one really thought that Scott would pull the trigger when he did. This year is that play in FB where the defense jumps and you get a free play. Recruiting is a full year ahead of schedule. Let's see what happens this season.

It may be best for Mike to focus on finishing his degree and preparing for his career outside of Football. His is a tragic story (relative of course) for a young promising athlete. All indications are that he is a good person and a smart guy. He can score with that. A decision he and his family need to make.

I am not using it as an excuse. The gaps are real. It just needs to be baked into and objective review. All of the objective commentary preseason stated that given the schedule, IU's sucess rode heavily on Penix coming back at full strength. He clearly was nowhere near full strength from the jump. Then take away Matthews and poor performance by the RB room and Fry...we have what we have. The defense is a shadow of itself. I am not excusing the coaching performance in the least. We need changes at OC and OL and that is on Tom.

Both OL and OC staffers need to be replaced off season. Last season was an anomaly (that everyone dealt with, but TA dealt with exceptionally well) This season is an anomaly due to schedule and injuries. Next season is the tie breaker to determine if TA will be a good hire or not.
