I think he'll get eaten alive down there.

Saw Danny Hurley rumored as a possible UConn candidate.

I saw the same thing about Hurley. And that Pitt might be interested, too. But he apparently turned them down before the Stallings hire ... I actually think UGa might not be a bad fit for Crean. Down there, it seems basketball is just something to pass the time between football and spring football. If he went to the NCAAs 50 percent of the time, I'm guessing they'd be somewhat pleased. The question: Can he do that? Basketball obviously is not top dog (pardon the pun) there, which might suit him better than at IU, where hoops is king.

I remember Marquette fans telling us about how Marquette and IU were good places for Crean because Marquette doesn't have football and our football program stinks. They said if he coached at a place with a strong football team, he'd feel threatened by their success and start going after their football coach.

A few years back, there were rumors that Crean was headed to Alabama (before the Avery Johnson hire, I think). Can you imagine him trying to get snippy with Saban!

Devin Davis with a big board and playing well. Houston up 1 with under a min to go. Good game

It really bothers me that Kelvin Sampson will be going to the NCAAs while we're practically begging for an NIT bid.

Houston has to beat Cincinnati tomorrow for the automatic bid, but they should be in
either way. But how about Texas Southern, at 14-19, leading at the half in the SWAC tournament final. Could Sampson and Davis both be dancing while IU can't even sniff the NIT? Ouch...

Davis leading Texas Southern to the NCAAs doesn't bother me as much as them having an abysmal record (14-19 entering the SWAC final) and getting in. ... I actually like Davis. He genuinely seems like a good, decent man. He was just in over his head at IU and finally realized it. ... Sampson is a different story -- he's a sleazeball who obliterated our program by cheating and lying about cheating. He had been busted for cheating at Oklahoma and was warned not to do it anymore. And, of course, as soon as he got to B-town, he started cheating again.

To top it off, Crean is getting fawning coverage in the national media and may land another Power 5 head coaching position.

Good for him, I hope he does.

He'd be a good fit at Georgia.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall the day he gives Geno a little coaching/recruiting advice.

Geno:  11 NCAA titles, 6 undefeated seasons

Crean:  Missed the NIT with 2 McD's AAs but coached Wade

I would pay to see that, but Geno being Italian it may not go well for Crean.

What's with these conferences straight out pimping their 'accomplishments'? The big 12(currently 10) has the board in front of the scorer's table claiming to be #1 in conference RPI. The $EC had a graphic with having the most quad 1&2 wins.

Pathetic.

Honestly see Sampson leaving Houston after this year if he is offered a job by a bigger school.
