WayneFleekHoosier Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Reneau is a beast in the college landscape. Loved him as a player. Someone will get a great one with him. It obviously won’t be us. Bailey, as bad as he was for us has a skill set. The B1G wasn’t his can of worms but he can find success in the right spot, and right position. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Demo Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Reluctantly, this is where I am now as well. I was ok with the ‘22’s just being the victims of bad luck here because new rules have to have a starting point and that’s life. But since some ‘22’s are already getting injunctions and others are gonna then it’s got to be everybody. I don’t like it for the ‘26’s but if this is where we’re headed we just need together on with it. Class of '66 Old Fart, BannerVille and mike vannice 3 Quote

I don’t necessarily disagree with you*, but the NCAA rolling this out at the last minute knowing they only need a few injunctions to make it moot is just another in a long line incredibly dumb NCAA legal moves. *I actually think I probably agree with you in principle at the beginning of this, but given that it would’ve been just sliding one last class 5 years of eligibility sandwiched in between the 5yrs of covid eligibility and the new 5 years standard, they should’ve just relented and covered the ‘26 class. jermhoosierfan and Demo 2 Quote
AZ Hoosier Posted August 1 Posted August 1 https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/49500831/in-temporary-injunction-19-players-granted-5th-season Looks like the judge also ordered a special transfer portal for these "kids"... "Defendant shall recognize Plaintiffs as eligible for the 2026-2027 basketball season and shall not deny or impede their recruitment, transfer, or certification on the basis of the challenged eligibility determination," I'Ashea Myles of the Davidson County Chancery Court wrote in her 33-page ruling. Myles, who heard motion arguments July 22, also ordered that the transfer portal open at noon Monday until 8 a.m. on Aug. 10 for any player wanting to enter and schools wanting to reach out. Quote

Anyone gambling on where HS athletes will go to college is practically begging to be separated from their money. That said... the prediction market companies are particularly disdainful. I hate what greed has done to college sports. str8baller and Demo 2 Quote

When online sports gambling and stuff was legalized and spread, I originally thought okay it’s a free country and I enjoy it. But now I look at it… sports gambling is up like 10x or some huge number. 95-97% of people lose money over the longer run. Winning bettors usually are cut off. This is just hurting almost everyone financially and some people get addicted and ruined. I’m a “it’s a free country” type of person, but some things people just cannot handle. I think betting is okay, but as a society I think we were better off when there was some friction/difficulty to do so… like bets can only be placed in person at casinos and OTBs. This online sports gambling stuff is just a nasty net negative for many reasons. ebridges24, cthomas, HoosierHoopster and 2 others 4 1 Quote

Agree. The handle on that type of action is so small they’ll be all over the place and worthless anyways. I’m also guessing recruits family members will eventually get in there and try and capitalize on it. This is just kind of dumb any way you slice it. ebridges24 and Home Jersey 2 Quote

What’s crazy is Sampson was out of college ball on a 5- year show cause order and has still coached that many And that is such an unflattering pic of Barnes lol Quote
Demo Posted yesterday at 03:21 PM Posted yesterday at 03:21 PM Glad it’s going well for Greg. Still probably the most impactful HS defensive presence I’ve ever seen. side note: for anyone else saying they haven’t aged since they were 17 when they’re pushing 40 would be a compliment to how they look now. hoosierdogg 1 Quote
