I don’t remember us ever being a lock for either. The only lock for a 5 star I can remember recently was TJD

I was told on Tuesday don't worry about recruiting. Interest in Indiana has never been higher from high school students. The staff thinks we will get someone better than Carton in his place.

I think the crystal balls were 75%+ for both, and then seemingly out of nowhere they announced for a different school. Miami has been named as a school in the Adidas scandal, so it would not be surprising if there was something shady there. For Waters I remember that everything had been trending for us, and then he took a visit to Georgetown and committed to them on the visit. He got out of his commitment after JT3 was fired, but we also fired Crean, so he ended up at LSU.

Bruce Brown was never a lock. 247 liked IU and said they led but rivals and espn and others had Miami as the leader. Waters was considered a favorite for a while but that all changed when waters took an unofficial to Georgetown before his announcement after that it was all Georgetown. Rabjohns and Snow warned and dropped hints to everybody on peegs months before he announced that UCLA was the team to beat

IU new that it was going to be tough to beat Vandy and duke when they jumped in. Once duke dropped out IU made their move. While the crystal ball started go IU’s way after the visit that slowly changed and Slater and other well known scouts changed back to the home team except Meyer. Some held out hope that Meyer knew something nobody else did but that was wrong and he changed his pick hours before

No one said we were locks???  I was just saying where we lead or supposedly lead for a recruit only to find out they go elsewhere on decision day.

While possible he comes here it won’t be because lack of options LSU is in the mix still they are going to deny everything so the NCAA will do nothing the Watfords know that.

Yes, I agree but it sounds like LSU is picking up steam so I was curious to see if distance could be a motivating factor (which does not seem to be the case). It would be disappointing if he goes to LSU because Wade is clearly guilty/slime. On the other hand there is a ton of smoke coming out of Arizona but Sean currently has the 2nd highest rated recruiting class in the country.

Christian said they were trying to schedule a visit. I don’t think any confirmation of it has come out.
