I guess it would be cool for us to play Purdue in Indianapolis preseason if both teams were expected to be good. I think it would be cooler if it were at one of the schools and probably a closed scrimmage or with very limited public access, but then the money making potential is gone. Maybe the old Crossroads Classic could be fun as a preseason exhibition tournament. Don't think we'll ever return to the glory days of college sports but I hope we find a way forward that makes the fan experience feel genuine again. Will Wade trying to build a roster of former pro's and guys joining teams in August after getting cut from NFL camps is certainly not it. Quote

One thing that is cool about this if you want to squint...the Iron Bowl used to never be played on campus. It was played at Legion Field in Birmingham, so this kinda harkens back to that in a way. I’d spend a little money to go down with my buddies, drink some beer and trash talk over a friendly scrimmage that at least had the potential to get a little chippy. Otoh, I think the novelty would wear off after a few times. I do agree about the crossroads classic, though. For us out-staters it was always a good opportunity to go down with my purdue friends and cheer on iu and then cheer for ND/butler while they did the opposite. Home Jersey 1 Quote

I think once 1 state sides with the players I think that’s where more and more and more lawsuits start coming Quote

Well, in this particular case the appeals court has already signaled that the NCAA is in good shape on the merits. I didn’t read the filings nor do I know Tenn law, but it is somewhat ironic to me that the NCAA’s exclusion of the 2022 class in the 5/5 rule is the one issue they might end up winning on. The NCAA has had a really good month. Quote

No, it’s much stupider. Luis only played 3 years of college before he declared so he can at least argue he has time left on his clock. TKR was at PU for 5 freakin’ years. So I would think the only argument he can make is, “ Hey, college sports is absolutely pro sports and any sort of eligibility restraints is restricting my ability to make a living.
