I'm thinking Sisley will play a decent amount as a 3 this year based on Sam returning. Super happy to have him back.

Do we start off platooning Sam and Yig at ~20mpg each? Sherrell is probably getting minimum 25mpg and probably closer to 30mpg IMO.

Maybe Sisley gets ~12mpg backing up the 4 and ~8 minutes playing as a 3.

I saw Enright was eligible too. I'd take him off the bench in a heartbeat. Would be a lot more reliable than Mondon.

He’s not eligible under this new rule. He redshirted his freshman year so was in college for five years already. He was class of 2021, not 2022

Yeah Schumann had posted on X earlier and had Enright listed with Alexis and Bailey but now I see he's changed it to not include Enright.

Crowded minutes at the 3 if any of the freshman can play at all, which it looks like a couple can.

Yigi/Sam split 20/20 but probably heavily dependent on matchups.

Hard to believe Sherrell will play less than 28 in any meaningful game.

I’d guess 2 things: 1) Harris or Sisley are getting squeezed on mins, and 2) we are not going to see much, if any, small ball. The latter continues to intrigue me.

IMO this has been a done deal for weeks and was just waiting for a a judicial ruling.

Agree. Maybe much longer. Our choice to not sign a backup big seemed bizarre, almost incompetent. Then when I found out Sam was coming to Peru...

I think they were always saving this spot for Sam.

I'm a broken record on this but I still don't see Sisley as a 3. He couldn't beat out Jasai Miles for minutes at the 3 last year. I am a big fan of him as a 4 though.

Yeah I don't necessarily love him as a 3 based on what I saw last year but maybe he has developed some more of those skills this offseason? He won't play as a 5 and Sherrell will probably get close to 28mpg or more, leaving 12mpg as a 4 for Sisley. I think Sisley will play closer to 20mpg than 12mpg.

Sam raises the floor for this team so much. Matchups will vary of course, but a 5 of Burton, Lindsay, Mustaf, Sherrell and Alexis sounds pretty good to me.

I'd think Sisley and Yig could play well together. If PAM contributes and Harris hits shots at a 35%+ clip, the team could make some noise in the B10. And that's not factoring in anything at all from Karvala or Manhurtz since I'm not thinking they'll be huge parts of the rotation as conference season goes on.

Looking ahead a bit, if (probably a big if) we retain Burton, Lindsay, Mustaf, Yig, Sisley and add borderline 5 star Branham + sophomores PAM, Karvala, Manhurtz, we'd only need a couple portal pieces to be really deep, talented, and have the roster balanced eligibility wise.

Hopefully year 2 is the best year for IUBB in a long time and sets us on an upward trajectory. It's more attainable than it has been in decades.

"bizarre, almost incompetent" seemed so true at the time

I refuse to acknowledge the 'groupthink' that Sam Alexis is a key roster gap fill, and I'm rolling with Ben Winker.

If I remember correctly he put some 6’4” dude on a poster in 1 of the 60pt games.
That’s not nothin’.
