Maybe I’m misunderstanding him. Do Gracie Bear’s boys pound you into submission physically and with flawless technique? Yes. Is it complex and leaves you guessing pre and post snap? Also yes. If Ty knew what they were actually doing before 5 broke him in half he may have thrown for more than 60 yards or whatever. The only thing he knew was coming was pain. Yeah, it's way more complex than what Simpson is leading onto. It's way more disruptive for the front 5 than anything else. And both Sayin and Simpson don't play OL. skhoosier2, CSP and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

Yea. In this case I mostly got that from Cig himself when he said this in April ‘25: “I think our little pot of gold is pretty nice, but we're not at $40 million. Or $30 million. Or even $25 million." https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/the-race-to-keep-up-with-40-million-rosters-is-shaking-college-football/ I took that to mean low 20’s which I heard from a few other people. Unfortunately for some who want to explain away IUFB as buying a team or being really old… it just ain’t so. It was simply incredible coaching. Hovadipo, go iu bb, skhoosier2 and 2 others 5 Quote

Interested to hear if you have knowledge of spending for the 2026 year and projections beyond. I have heard rumor from booster we have a decently significant increase in NIL for this coming year and projection for 2027. We will most likely never spend like Alabama, OSU, and maybe 10-15 other schools. But our investments have risen quite a bit once the pocketbooks saw we had someone competent at the helm. Quote
Dave from Dayton Posted April 23 Posted April 23 First thing on the news this morning... IU Football Helmut on the big screen...IU Football Heisman Trophy Winner Quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the top selection in tonight's NFL draft! It sure is wonderful to have my IU National Champions in Football banner outside among all of these aging OSU banners. Neighbors in back see my stained-glass IU suncatcher...and they are from Ft. Wayne. We want another one, just like the other one! Pagoda, skhoosier2, LIHoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

I'm pretty sure 2026 is in the mid-30's. I'd guess we're right on the edge of the top-10. Pretty nuts. I think there are 20 or 25 schools spending pretty big, like the $30-40M range, so I think about as we're spending at a very competitive level. Beyond that, no idea, but whatever it is, it kept Cig around. Lebowski, BtownStrength and skhoosier2 3 Quote
