I imagine we bring in a Schott type to add to the current freshmen and then a couple old heads. Stuhoo and lillurk 2 Quote

With a guy like Hoover you want all kinds of weapons as well. 7 minutes ago, Hovadipo said: Getting to the point where we’re playing on Freshman recruiting difficulty on the CFB video game. Hand picking the most talented guys that fit the locker room is extremely bad news for the rest of the country. Yep. And we have what appears to be a very easy schedule next year. We have OSU at home. Next hardest home game is USC which frankly until they get a real coach doesn’t scare me. Road games against Michigan and Washington are the next challenges. Michigan I guess is a wildcard but honestly not too worried either Quote
Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 3 Popular Post Posted January 3 Sidenote, I personally know the Brock Schott family and he’ll be a Hoosier very soon. Leo HS TE. Highly rated. I don’t think he’ll be our penciled in starter but he’s a big athletic kid that’s focused on be great. Will be cool having him on the team. cthomas, 8bucks, MikeRoberts and 16 others 19 Quote

Knowing him a bit personally, this is so cool for his family. I don’t know what kind of contributor he will be immediately, but he’s a great kid that will be about the right things. Having said that, he’s a big, strong, athletic kid that could turn into something special. It’s hard to project for me because I’ve watched him play sport since he was 7 or 8. He just kept growing and growing since then. lol. Quote

If he can do that he should have a spot I imagine Quote

I thought for sure IUFB had a really good 'Schott' at him out of high school. That position is getting filled up (2 2025 commits, 3 2026 commits) so I have to wonder why the staff isn't trying to land someone with a little more experience. skhoosier2 1 Quote

As a former football player at Leo High School myself (albeit, many years before him), it'll be cool to see him playing for our hoosiers. Crimson and Cream and str8baller 2 Quote

Home Jersey Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Some info worth keeping in our collective back pockets - Schott was apparently also a very talented pass rusher in HS and led the state in sacks at one point. Not sure we need any more EDGEs, and seems unlikely he switches from TE, but you never know what could happen with injuries etc. Dalton26 1 Quote

JSHoosier Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Schott is definitely a departure from the production over potential mantra, but they must have seen something they like. This staff has earned the trust. Quote

MonteMarcaccini Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Anyone know the rules/timeframe around transfers working with their new team. Obviously Schott isn’t going to be drawing up the game plan but I assume he is able to communicate with our staff. Maybe he can provide a nugget or two about his former program?
