Can’t help impatience but the whiplash turns on here to complain and ***** are just wasted air to me

My opinion the fact that 2 of the losses are to Kentucky and Louisville combined with the fact that May has Michigan the number 1 team in the NET makes the optics worse and people want this flipped yesterday.    Doesn’t work that way most of the time.   Sometimes you got to grind to get where you want.

Didn’t watch game. Why so many 3s?

We got a ton of open looks against an overmatched opponent. First half we hit them. Second half we missed them. For better or worse, we kept shooting.

I'd like to see us work inside more when shots aren't dropping. That being said, it's kryptonite to your offense when shooters start hesitating on open threes (as we've seen for nearly a decade now). Gotta find a balance.

It's not just the losses to those two.  It's how we lost.  Heck, it's even how we've won.  We've looked terrible, no hustle, picking up the dribble with no idea of what comes next, playing down to competition, coach not able to motivate.  Don't try to simplify it to record alone.  We look really bad and that's why there's upset fans

Always going to be upset fans.  Is what it is

There might be some upset fans. But this little back and forth was kicked off by a mod wondering how there were only 80 posts for a game thread. It seems most people simply didn’t care enough to tune in and be upset (or happy as some others are).

Either way they will either win enough for people that don’t care to start watching and caring again or they won’t

I want to believe.  What makes you say he's the best coach we've had since Sampson?  What metrics are you looking at?

His coaching,  records and team building at Drake, his 1 year at WV turning it around from the prior season (and should have been in the tournament as most recognize), as a HC, his 17 seasons coaching tree exp as an assistant at Creighton, his recognition by most commentators that he’s one of the better coaches, and what I’ve seen of him this season including coming out of half time (not last couple games). 6 seasons at Drake he was .732 on W-L. I mean in fairness the competition for that comp at IU is Crean, Miller and Woodson, the latter 2 being flat out terrible and Crean being a good builder of the program back to respectable, largely on recruiting, but an average sideline coach. DeVries is a proven good basketball mind and program developer, I’m confident we have a guy who can get us back into competing in the top of the B1G, he has to prove it in the Portal era, so we’ll see, but it’s not an overnight thing starting from a complete blank slate as he did here

Certainly wasn’t expecting it to go this way. I was just making an observation, but didn’t really think it was that deep.

My bad.  I'm not processing the death of IU basketball well :farting_smiley: lol

Well, IU basketball may, indeed, be on its deathbed... but c'mon, football is rocking and setting new highs for IU every time out, and garnering the majority eyes for Indiana athletics. Then we get a new coach with a cobbled roster playing a team with a KenPom rating deep in the 300s with no reasonable television access... not at all surprised about the lack of posts on a discussion forum.

Nothing to see here... moving on.

Only my opinion but I wouldn’t see a reason to panic until they start losing home games to teams they will be fighting for a tourney spot with.   Before the season the national college basketball media and most on here  felt making the tourney would be a good first year for DeVries.  Listen to the national media yesterday nothing has changed most feel IU is flawed team but still will be in that second tier of B1G teams that will be fighting each other for a tourney spot.   I didn’t watch the game but if I only went by what happen in this place I would have thought they lost the game.   Watching the highlights on the different stations however they actually pointed out IU taking care of business and doing what was necessary getting through the last game before break.   Unless you thought they were going to be the cream of the crop of the B1G in his first year then I guess you can panic because they won’t be close to the top teams in the league.  They will have a tough time with the Purdues, Michigans and Michigan States of the world this year however that leaves 14 other teams they will competing with for a tourney spot and my opinion only they will have chances against all the remaining B1G teams.  They are not going to win all those games however from watching those other teams play they are far from dominating teams where IU wouldn’t have a chance.   They will either win enough to be a tourney team or they won’t

Like Minn?  :)

Free stream?  After four and a half years of Scott Dolson basketball I'm done paying to watch this lol

Yeah like a Q2 road game at Minny.   That was 1 of 10 chances to get a road win in the B1G.   Probably was one of the better chances to get a road win however they will have other chances just got to take advantage.  I’m guessing IU won’t be the only B1G team fighting for an at-large bid  to lose at the barn

I didn't realize Dolson was the coach at IU

Everyone knows Woodson was pushed on Dolson and didn't have much of a day in the hiring.

Dolson has been a great AD at IU

I guess some people are only happy when they are bitching about everything.

"Everyone knows" lol.

Have you ever been in management?  If so, have you ever had your decisions usurped by somebody who didn't deserve it?  For years?  Because if so, you're a bad manager.

I'm sorry, I don't believe that narrative.  And if your theory is true, you have to admit then that Scott is a bad manager to let somebody else take his power away.

The simplest theory is likely the correct one.  The Athletic Director made a hire that he stuck with for far too long.  To think he let anybody else take that power from him makes him weak.
