Really hoping for Oklahoma. We could legit shut them out.

Bama does not scare me either, but when they're on they are tough for sure. Tons of 5 star talent on that team.

I would love the chance to shut the Tide fans up once and for all though. Ever since last year they've been talking nonstop about how overrated we are and don't belong.

If we play and beat Alabama, the next day is the first time I'll ever catch BaldTrollDumb@$$'s show.

We should all be rooting for Oklahoma now with the all but confirmed Daley news.

Their offense is flat out not very good. I would much rather our D face Mateer and their pedestrian offense than Alabama's. Plus Deboer is a much more talented offensive coach than Venables.

Agree on all fronts.

DeBoer > Venables

Alabama O line > Oklahoma O line

Anyone actually received an email from IU about tickets? I applied but never got the email which makes me think I’m probably not getting tickets through the ticket office.

Maybe. Alabama probably has a higher upside because they can possibly elevate on both sides of the ball.  But Oklahoma will almost assuredly be a slog with their defense. Could be an Iowa or PSU type game.  One possession games can go either way.

Bama got whipped by an awful FSU team. Got beat by the aforementioned Oklahoma. Barely got by auburn. Same with weak Missouri and S Carolina teams. And they were flat dominated by Georgia.  Odds are IU handles Alabama by two scores if our defense shows up. I think I’d rather play them.  I feel good about playing either team though.

I just want to shut up BaldTrollDumb@$$ and make him eat crow.  I have a feeling he will then say that they didn't play Georgia.  The nickname isn't quite insulting enough.

Bama is really beat up. Even if they get by OU, any more injuries in that game and they’re down to third string guys. Still probably 4-stars, but not many snaps this season.

Judging by what’s being said it sounds like Alabama’s QB has a messed up back. They might get their starting RB next week for the game too. One of Alabama’s DL also got ruled out for the CFP due to some blood issues. On the Oklahoma side of things, I guess their original starter and veteran at CB is done for the season (Missing since late September). And that their sack leader has his status being unknown after missing their last couple of games. Also, their QB dealing with his hand injury still. And their starting center being injured before the LSU-OK game. There is some other ones, but those are the eye popping players I’ve seen.

Crazy enough in the coaching carousel world, Bama might be losing to Deboer over the weekend to Michigan.

IU losing two of their best performing defensive players this season at the same position and then reading about the legitimate high quality possible options….speaks volumes to the depth, quality and flexibility players that have been assembled in two seasons.  (also true on offense at different points throughout season for running backs and receivers).

For anyone wondering/waiting...my Rose Bowl application no longer shows on my IU ticket account and I wasn't charged. Guessing those all went to very high priority pointers.

Bummer man. If it helps, I got mine through VividSeats.

Oh, I already have some. I just applied through IU to be in the more "official" block of seats and had some people lined up for the ones I already had.

Couldn't that potentially mean they've stopped taking applications and it's in process?

I suppose so. Logic rarely applies to the IU Ticket Office however.

It sucks that Daley is out.  However, all the talking heads doubting IU's bench just provides IU one more way to prove the doubters wrong.  Landino can move over into Daley's spot and IU is much stronger on the inside DL with a couple of really good players to step in.  IU should not have any trouble dispatching either Alabama or Oklahoma IF Cig has the team in the right mindset and ready to go . . . there is no doubt that will happen this season.  I'll take iu2win The Rose Bowl !!!

Zero clue who wins next Friday, but it’s going to be a fun game to watch.

Following up on this, I think it’s going to be a low scoring game and probably whoever wins it, does wins it by a score. Seems like their last 2 matchups have been pretty defensive with OU coming up too due to their defense and their offense doing enough. Both teams are missing guys, but if Alabama gets Miller back, that would be huge for their running game. Since he was missed last weekend against UGA (held Bama to negative rushing yards).
