I’m rooting hard for Schott, but man, not sure that is fair to the kid for him to live up to Nowakowski. So much youth at TE. Feel good about most other spots. Backup QB might be a worry too. LB? I think we are "only" losing Fischer at LB. Jones filled in pretty good when he was out. Got some freshmen coming in for depth. TE, I think we'll be fine. Doesn't seem like a "featured" position, but incredibly important when used. TE is really about heart. QB, backup, is a problem. Hopefully one of these kids can get on the development train. We are one bad hit away from a disaster. I actually had pretty good confidence in Alberto to hold his own if needed. Not sure with these other guys. Quote

I'm really surprised we haven't brought in another guy to try to fill that role. AkronHoosier, Napleshoosier, Crimson and Cream and 3 others 6 Quote

Really think it’s a key position that needs to be filled unless there’s a young guy on the rise they think can do it. Crimson and Cream and Hovadipo 2 Quote

I could see us going to more of a 4-2-5. Haines used 3 LB sets often because he couldn't keep one of those 3 off the field imo. I also like Turner as a guy that could make some noise. I agree on QB but I think that's most teams' concern. Not getting a quality vet to come play backup. Hopefully Cherry makes progress in the off-season. Apparently he was dressed for the chip game. skhoosier2, AkronHoosier and BtownStrength 3 Quote

Lining him up at fullback for that rushing TD was just smashmouth football. AkronHoosier, str8baller and skhoosier2 3 Quote

So true! Not a downer—we’re gonna have some departures for sure still. I’m enjoying the possibilities and combinations for those that stay. AkronHoosier 1 Quote

Not typical to have a capable receiving/excellent blocking TE. WayneFleekHoosier, Napleshoosier and skhoosier2 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 24 Posted January 24 My 2 biggest roster worries. 1. keeping Khobie Martin. 2. keeping Lynch? from Texas. Those would sting. skhoosier2 and Stuhoo 2 Quote
