Besides that WTF moment at the first drive, a rather pedentic opener.  Not impressed with our red zone offense or pass game, but the rush game and defense is quite good.

Maybe we are not a CFP team this year, maybe we are. Too early to say with certainty. Every team that makes it, will get a lot better between then and now. We won game 1. Yes there is a lot that could've been better about today, but on paper, we end it in as good position as any other team to get where we want to be. Survive and advance, lol

That is not what I hoped to see today.

But, it’s one game.  We have three weeks to evolve as a team and figure some things out.  Unfortunately, we have a lot of work to do.

We kind of resembled the average Iowa team today. No passing game, good running game, good defense (minus the two QB runs)

A lot left to be desired. Goal line play calling was bad and jury still out on Mendoza…but he didn’t look like he is in the same sphere Rourke was in. Hopefully we see improvement next week.
