Rabbys on his bull **** that “things change” and that’s why they went ahead and posted Norton because HR “gave the okay”. Usually try to somewhat stand up for him cause he means well and does know a decent amount for recruiting but holy miss.

Yeah the crap about how HR works and that’s how they want it done is BS. HR is not saying they can release someone at 7pm on a Thursday night. Something changed.

People love complaining about Rabby and him being off but yet his thoughts get brought to free message boards 5 secs after he drops any kind of thought.   People can hate him all they want however he is still the most plugged in IU basketball person and I don’t really think it’s close.   If he wasn’t there would be no need to post his thoughts on every IU message board that isn’t Peegs

But the point is he’s been way off LATELY and he has been. He’a been plugged in for some time, that doesn’t change how blatantly wrong and off he’s been lately, and it’s an entirely new staff. Is he still plugged in? Far from clear right now

And he’s the mouthpiece for the program. Just sort of annoying to be told one thing and given another

That’s the usual when it comes to all things IU basketball

He used to be that’s for sure and not even close. But he very rarely gets some kind of info first anymore. He didn’t get Enright till almost 24 hours after it was announced on X.

Doesn’t stop people from posting all his thoughts on every free iu message board 2 secs after he post his thoughts.   It is what it is regardless of how right or wrong he is.

IMO people run to post his thoughts on free message boards because he is one of the main outlet's beat writer / publisher.

People don't care because his name is Jeff Rabjohns and that carries weight (at least not to my knowledge) ... IMO they care what he says because of what his job is. And IUBB fans will dissect any morsel of news right now especially

And yet 5 sec after he post anything  it always makes its way to any free iu message board.  Right or wrong he is still IU basketballs insider

One reason I'm not worried about the assistants is this: Coach DeVries has 18 years as an assistant coach and 7 years as a head coach under his belt. He built all kinds of connections throughout college basketball, unlike our previous coach. Even if he doesn't land Preston and/or the Texas Tech assistant, I'm sure he knows who else he wants.

Edit: Landing Preston would be impressive. Nate Oats is a king in Alabama. Unless he chooses to, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Preston has job security there. It would be a little bit of a risk to come to IU for him.

Same with Tyme.

My guess is that the assistant coaching search is taking longer than whomever decided they wanted to announce them all at once thought it would take. Maybe we're negotiating with the other 2. Maybe we're striking out. Whatever it is, it's taking a while and probably longer than it was thought it would take. Fans start to get antsy from lack of announcements so they make a change to how they're going to do it. That's my guess.
