Let’s also see how Dusty does once he doesn’t have Goldin anymore. I don't think that's the main reason Crean was fired. I think he was fired because of his inconsistency and his recruiting was going in a negative direction. So were his B1G finishes. thebigweave, HoosierHoopster, JustWinBaby and 3 others 6 Quote

And the year he won it was a bad year for the conference. He wasn't trending in a good way no matter how you slice it. str8baller 1 Quote

They didn't deserve getting 14 teams in. The top of the conference, however, is very strong and will do well in the tournament. tkbbn, Asha’man, HoosierHoopster and 1 other 4 Quote

Have them going to the Elite 8. Young is a good coach and he has some nice talent there. Think the Big 10 should try to figure out a way to add them with the Mormon contingency. Quote

I think the next round of the tourney is going to show that the top of the B1G is not so strong and that the SEC top is really strong. I agree. Unfortunately, the top isn't very good so it'll be a B1G bloodbath this weekend and next Thursday/Friday after the great start. tkbbn, JustWinBaby and Silat Player 3 Quote
schoosier Posted March 23, 2025 Posted March 23, 2025 BYU is out wisconsing Wisconsin. Another observation is it’s fairly easy to see why we haven’t been this far in a long time. We usually don’t take care of the ball, take bad shots, and have horrible coaching first and foremost. go iu bb, JustWinBaby, Silat Player and 2 others 5 Quote

Actually, the exact opposite. Baker-Mazara is my go-to example of the 1 change I’d make if I was NCAA President for a day. That guy’s gonna play the entire SEC conference season next year at 26. That’s insane. I’d do away with medical redshirts, hardship waivers, the whole thing, and give every athlete in every sport unlimited years, no questions asked, until their 25th birthday. On that day as they’re blowing out the candles on their cake their eligibility is up, no appeals or exceptions. If some kid reclasses up and starts school his 17-18 yo year, fine he’s got 7 years. Normal kids would have 6. And, hey, if some coach wants to use a guy 2/3 of a season because he turns 25 in February, I’’m down with that, too. His Senior night can be game 20, then he’s done. I can swallow a 24yo playing against a freshman, but that’s where I vociferously draw the line. cthomas 1 Quote
