I admittedly had not heard much from Richie Pitino over the years, but when I saw this, I took a look.

Dude sounds almost exactly like his dad.

I’m happy Darian Devries is Indiana’s new coach, but Richard Pitino would have also been a flat-out excellent choice.

Might’ve missed this discussion but I think there’s a good case that Fran may do pretty well at Penn. Punched above his resources at Iowa, has an eye for less heralded talent, seemed to work well in his region at Iowa, he’s a Penn alum so there could be some fundraising upside, probably a more level playing field with the other Ivies, really prioritizes shooting and it’s likely the athleticism sacrifices he made at Iowa will bite him less there…

IDK. Not convinced it’ll work, but also wouldn’t be shocked if they’re competitive and even win the Ivy a couple times before he hangs them up.

IU instagram account just officially announced Nick Norton. Does this mean we’re about to post all of them???0

Either that or they finally realized that waiting to announce all at the same time is kind of a dumb idea.

Chris Collns extended at Northeestern.

Honestly, good for NW and good for the B1G. That program could easily be a perennial bottom dweller without a good coach. As it is they should compete for the middle of the pack most years which helps the depth of the league.

I hope IU gets to a point where they are able to do this if they have some mid-major coach they want to take over but not quite yet. Coach-in-waiting has worked out for Purdue and Duke. Even if IU doesn't go that route, just having the stability for it to be a possibility would be nice for a change.

What’s crazy is the coaching changes Twitter handle made a comment about this by saying mid major coach leaving for power 5 school to be assistant probably a month ago

Goodman -

New Texas head coach Sean Miller is hiring Kenya Hunter as his assistant to complete his staff, source told @TheFieldOf68. Hunter was on Miller’s staff for his first go-around as the Xavier head coach. Hunter was most recently at Indiana with Mike Woodson.

I hope he brings just as much success to Miller and Texas as he brought to IU.
