Minny isn't the hinterlands, that's just over the top. No need to make excuses for Pitino, maybe he's improved from the young coach he was, the last two years look good, let's see how it goes from here. Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Worth mentioning that to date the only tow P5 to P5 move are DeVries to IU and Sean Miller to Texas. Could still happen at Villanova if Willard takes the job. go iu bb, lillurk and BannerVille 3 Quote

I'm reading that Willard missed the team dinner last night, and that Maryland has instructed their AD search firm to also start a search for a new head basketball coach. Yes, Maryland plays their biggest game in a decade today. Quote

I don't know if it's true but here's some more of the messy Maryland situation: Sweet 16 game day arrives for Maryland basketball and Kevin Willard with clouds rumbling overhead Kevin Willard didn't show up to dinner with his team, the night before the Sweet 16. All reports indicate he has accepted the Villanova job. TadQueasy Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Dang. Well I sure hope that is not right. If it is then I would have a hard time wanting him to be hired by my school. You do not abandon your team in the tournament. MemphisHoosier, pumpfake, Hoosierinbham and 1 other 4 Quote

You do not abandon your team in the tournament. I have no idea if the dinner thing is true, it was originally posted by a team manager and reposted supposedly. However, the rest of the saga is true and has been handled about as unprofessionally as possible. I don't blame Willard for accepting the job right now. The NCAA calendar kind of forces it with the free ability to transfer only in a specified window during the NCAA tournament. However, there are much better ways to handle this. Quote

Maryland has put themselves in a nasty situation there it looks like. The portal really needs to open up on the Tuesday after the championship game. When the season is over, free agency begins. No other sport has their free agency period start during their playoffs. It is asinine pumpfake and PartyintheVillas 2 Quote
