Not to make this about Woodson, but the way he conducted himself was a huge reason why the fanbase went so hard against him. At the end of the day you have to win, but like in any setting, people will have more patience and grace for someone they like.

I've liked basically everything I've watched from DDV's teams but there's this one thing. Every year they are good for at minimum 1 or 2 absolute **** kickings. I'm talking 25-30 pt losses. Seems odd and I'm not real sure why.

This confirms Tucker faked injury, DeVries threw games, the inbound plays where bad, offense non-existent, and Colorado wasn’t as goood as Small

So he  threw games and still ended up 19-13, sounds great!  And Tucker DeVries underwent shoulder surgery for a fake injury so his dad could take another job that he was the backup plan for.

He was living on fumes from his playing days to win over the fan base.

I noticed that too. I was going to make a reference about not worrying about a beatings anymore, but before I posted it, I checked his records. Looks like it’s gonna happen still.

I'm not trying to be negative and I'm happy with the hire but they are really, really bad beatings. And seemingly from teams that don't make sense sometimes.

I can remember some of Knights teams taking some *** whooping's back in the day.  It seemed like some of them where on purpose at times to let them know if they don't listen and do what they want this is the outcome.  Teaching moment so to speak.

 

Not sure that is what this is but sometimes a good whooping opens your eyes to make you better.

Samesies. I was born in 82 so I was too young to really have a good grasp on the '87 team but I was fully invested from '91 on. Greg Graham, Calbert and Damon will always be me childhood heroes.

Shalooby’s is an inside joke that originated on Twitter back in the fall during football season. National CFB media folks were tweeting about wanting to visit Bloomington for a football game and asked for recommendations. A longtime Bloomington/IU twitter personality asked AI what it would recommend and it gave some of the classic recs, but it hallucinated and recommended a (fake) restaurant called Shalooby’s, known for its wet sandwiches. And it just devolved into a meme from there. There’s now a Shalooby’s Twitter account and Upland Brewing even made a limited time Shalooby’s lager in partnership with Hoosier Hills Food Bank.

The whole thing’s ridiculous but hysterically funny. And has even had tangible real-world effects lmao

Local restaurant Shalooby’s attracts IU football fans from across the country to enjoy a post-game meal.

But this “beloved” eatery does not exist. It’s an internet hoax.

IU adjunct Jeff LaFave is the person behind the joke. He saw Shalooby’s in an article filled with AI-generated images and false Bloomington factoids. Soon, he posted on his X account, BTown Moose.

“I started daydreaming about it, made a photoshop of it in the old Cafe Pizzeria building,” LaFave said. “Just for a one off joke I didn’t think would go very far.”

But far did it go. LaFave’s creation went viral in a matter of hours. Fellow X users reposted the photoshopped image and dubbed it as the best place to get a soggy sandwich.

IU fans wrote “Shalooby’s” across the windshields of their cars. They also wrote it on signs that could be seen on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff show, which attracted a huge crowd outside Memorial Stadium last week before the IU-Nebraska game.

Shalooby’s even has its own website that LaFave had no part in making.

“It just kind of made me feel like I was trapped in a Twilight Zone episode,” LaFave said. “I told a joke so good everyone else wanted to tell it, and it was out of my hands.”

LaFave enjoys watching the joke take a life of its own and hopes that maybe it will one day become a reality.
