I’m being told Dolson reached out to BS months ago and Brad said he was happy in Boston and that was that.  He didn’t lead Dolson on at all.

Others heard differently so who really knows

Which makes the perceived panic hire even crazier.

Rumor from a poster on Peegs is that IU agreed to spend up to 10-12 between NIL and the School Portion.

Thanks.  Makes sense.  $4-6NIL and if the avg B1G bball rev share is $3-4M we are supposedly going to double that.

Should be top-5 range again, top-10 at the worst.  Can really only guess but it’s a lot for players.

After a very disappointing season it’s good to see that we moved from a coach with  a 10-10 conference record, and barely missing the tourney, all the way up to a coach  with  a 10-10 conference record while barely missing the tourney.
Player payroll was extremely different I would imagine...

It would make more sense to spend most of that money on a can’t miss coach

Separated by literally one spot on the committee's seed line. Think we can be excited, and there are extenuating circumstances, but this is a funny point.

This West Virginia team is literally the best team DeVries has ever had by the advanced stats. We'll be counting on him growing a lot from what he's done so far. Think DeVries is dedicated to growing, and so excited to see him try.

Not a single good season. Finished 53 this year. .500 in conference. Has above average Nil to spend on this years team.

Nothing matters until he wins or loses. You love it. I don’t. I’m getting a slew of negative reaction texts from my Indiana peeps.

Indiana had a chance to once again prove they mean business and didn’t do it. Wins will build it if he can’t be he’s never had a season to prove he can make Indiana fans happy.

Will he recruit the state better than the next guy? Nil only goes so far. Baffling move. Let it ride on gut instincts. Even Dolson’s opening statement is mild.

I mean what do you expect them to do? You don’t think Scott contacted all of the big time coaches to see if they were available? It takes two to tango. Yes they could’ve hired Will Wade or Beard but after Sampson they just aren’t touching that. How about giving DeVries a chance before judging him. He took a 9 win team to 19 wins without his best player for 24 of the 32 games played, $3m less in NIL than IU and that’s not even including the budget for the basketball program (which IU spent $17m and was in top 5 in college basketball, and let’s be honest players aren’t truly begging to play in West Virginia.

Someone posted a while back that the most common trait of Nat'l Championship coaches is that they set a school record for wins at an earlier stop. Devries tied Drake's. He also had 3 NCAA trips in 6 years at a place that had only been there once in the prior 47 years. And during one of those trips, he lost by 7 to a Miami team that drilled IU the next game en route to the final four.

This is also true. He played Miami much better than IU did with two NBA draft picks, including one of the greatest players in program history.

I’ll preface this by saying I don’t think Mullins will flip.  If he were to do so, DeVries is the real deal.  What a powerful message that would send.

Agreed. It would be so much easier to get Mullins to flip if he was committed pretty much anywhere other than the 2-time defending champions.

Hurley is the best coach in the country. That's probably an insurmountable obstacle for nearly any coach.

He’s still a Masshole to me, thanks.

DeVries will have hopefully 15ish successful years here then retire.

People will clamor for 63-year old Brad Stevens and lament us not signing him in 2025... or 2021...

RTZ posted that Trilly was wrong literally moments before it was confirmed by all the national outlets.

That's called trolling and gets called out when it's done by Isaac.

RTZ has a "reputation" so he gets a pass for being wrong? No, he's trolling.

He somehow never has time to be around the boards except to post gifs then do the whole tantrum thing...

People can mock it. Who cares.

There’s a difference between critiquing people and taking personal jabs. That was personal and petty. Let’s move on.
