Your Hoosier posting board history

What IU boards have you posted on and, if you remember, what was your user name?

Me:

Started out on the old ESPN boards.  User name of brumdog44.  Posted for years there until the boards completely broke down -- they always used community moderators and there were certain boards/teams where the moderators ban hammers got way out of hand and boards started to get flooded with spam.  ESPN discontinued the boards.

Then moved over "Our Hoosier Board" which mainly consisted of posters IU posters from the ESPN boards.  User name of brumdog45.  There was a separate forum there for Purdue posters but IU posters made up about 90% of the board.  Posted there a ton -- had the most posts of any poster but left when the board started dying down.

Since joining BTB, I've had two user names -- brumdog45 was my initial user name, changed it to RaceToTheTop when Race Thompson left the portal and recommitted to IU.

I think I might have a user name on the free board of Peegs but I never posted there.  I read some posted at HSN but that board doesn't seem to have as much activity as BTB.

I legit don’t know how I didn’t know you were Brumdog.  

I am pretty easy.  mdn82 on the Star, ESPN, Scout, HSN, 247/Scout, then when we built this board.  Avoided Peegs like the plague.

My brother brought me here. I used to be on all the high school boards when my godsons were playing. Now I just post here but scroll through most all boards. This place rocks.

Started on Scout (I think) in college in 2010.  Posted under the same username I believe. Jaybob then recruited me over here during a mass exodus of whatever board Scout eventually turned into.

Brum, did you used to have the crimson/chrome striped football helmet as your avatar?  I usually link handles to the avatar and when people change them it screws me all up! lol

Oh yeah, Ive always been Ryno, was on the old scout site, 247, HSN, but only post here for the last several years!

Lurked on the scout boards first.  Moved to wherever the next place was can’t remember but lurked over there as well.  Loved the community and started posting.  Mods were Jaybob, Mdn82, CCGeneral(rip), Stuhoo, Hoosierpap(I believe) and Milehiiu rip who was a really great poster and you could tell by his posting he was just as good of person in real life.  When people started leaving that place to come here I got a PM to join over here.    Started posting frequently and got asked at some point to become a Mod.   Never looked back and truly look at this place and community as a family.   No better place for an IU fan and college basketball fan to hang out and talk ball.   We fight occasionally amongst ourselves but so do all family members.  We all want the same thing.   IU to be back in the conversation on a national level.  This place is awesome now when we are down just imagine what it will be like when we are rolling.   For all you lurkers out there come on in and join the fun.   It’s worth it to join in on the fun

ITH a long time ago. Have posted on HSN but pretty much just here now. Was rcs29 before I started using my bowling name that my brother gave me long ago.

I started on the original Hoosier Nation site, I think it was still called that around the time of the whole Sampson firing and then when there was a rift on the site with members and owners, following the late milehi and others to the spin off new board which I think eventually became the 247 board until it got bought by Peegs, I think?  Now I am on the new Hoosier Sports Nation site and here but mostly here after Colonial Crester and Milehi sadly passed away.  Screen name has always been the same I think.

Yep, that was me.  :)

I was a diehard IU football fan before that was cool. :)

Scout, barely, back when I was in college. My username was different (initials/numbers), didn’t post much on scout. However, I was on the receiving end of some nice “lectures” from the old guard of Gocolts (now Old Friend?) and oggyiu. Some of the other old faces included some names still here and guys like milehiiu and ccgeneral - who were both great guys and I believe unfortunately both passed away…).

Never touched peegs, but I went from scout to the original Hoosier Sports Nation, which had the same design as this page. This was during the Crean/Watford era, and I was on that with many of the folks currently on this site.

I took a little break from posting on the original HSN, and I don’t remember what happened to it. Was it funding issues or something? Anyway, when I started posting again Btownbanners had the same exact format and design as the old HSN, so I came over here. I only post here and have not gone back to HSN. I check it out occasionally during big moments (like we’re currently in) to see what extra perspectives may be shared, but I don’t post there given this site has a fuller community of posters.

Hello all!  I started on the ESPN board and I remember Brumdog posting on there too but I can’t remember my username because I wasn’t on it very long.

 
From there I went to OurHoosierboard as I followed the founder of it, SirBrianWilson, who recruited a bunch of us from ESPN to come to OHB.  My username was DedicatedIUfan and sadly, I was probably the last poster on that board as I was hoping it would start back up. Brumdog (RaceToTheTop) came back a few times and mentioned to me he was on BTB, and I started here about this time last year.

Started posting here as HovadipoJr. Got my a$s sued for copyright infringement. Hired HoosierHoopster as my lawyer. Lost big and became Stuhoo.

In all seriousness, was on the old HSN always under this name, when mdn, Jaybob, ccgeneral, hoosierpap, Waynefleek (used to have a different name?) and I’m sure a few others formed this awesome place. I came a few weeks after formation when we were the little engine that could. Now we’re the big community that does.

Became a mod here a few years in, and tried to take the lead in recruiting some posters whose humor and sanity I enjoy greatly as fellow mods.

We got bigger and better by not putting up with assholery, trying to reward smart and funny, and following our rules even when we don’t want to. I try to be of use by being kind, sneaky, and absolutely meaning what I say, even when it’s kindly telling someone to stop pissing people off.

I don’t know much but I now know the people who do, and the graciousness, trust, and respect that can be developed amongst my Hoosier brothers, even when we very strongly disagree, is pretty dang impressive.

I think I was one of the ones that may have targeted you as a mod. If so, to make up for all the bone-headed things I’ve done and will do, that was one of the best things that’s ever happened to this place.

You add a national college basketball dimension to this place that is unparalleled my friend.

Similar to Stuhoo. Joined very early from the HSN transfer. I can’t remember if 247 was before or after that.  Same group of posters for the most part.  Been at it for years.   Truly love and enjoy BTBs and it’s posters and info.  We’ve grieved together for many a’ years.  At some point, hopefully in the near future, we will rejoice together in being a Nationally relevant program again.

Lurked off and on from the early 90s when I lived in Westfield don’t remember the boards but would follow before and during the season. Moved south and found a home with you all and became a minor poster. Thank you for all the information.
