Have been hoping for a “holy sh!te” OL commitment as our need to upgrade the OL was apparent in 1/2 of UM, OSU and  ND games. (it didn’t help that it turned out Rourke was playing with. bum acl)

He is reasonably mobile, much more than injured KR.  It should be a big difference.

The other factor is he was sacked something like 40 times at Cal, tops in the FBS.  That has to be such a nightmare to deal with, and just providing basic protection could result in a huge pop in his stats.  Getting away from Cal's terrible OL plus Cignetti's QB magic has me really excited about his upside next year.

…..I bolded something that just came to my mind about some questionable play by Rourke well as some questionable play calling by Sunseri, Shanahan and Cignetti. Forgive me if this has already been brought up…..I can’t imagine that some of Rourke’s late season performances and (qb) play calling during our late season/2 losses aren’t directly related to keeping his torn ACL safe and playable. Has it been determined when his ACL was torn?
I remember thinking during parts of those games, “Why is he not scrambling out of the pocket or running more to get out of these situations?”

The most recent tear was August.  I don't know how it evolved over the season, which is another consideration.

Was it public knowledge that he tore his ACL early on before the season started? It would have been all over the news and how devastating it would be. At least, I don’t ever remember hearing about it.

They kept it quiet from what i recall and pretended like it was something minor the times he sat out.

Lets say he lost on avg-- 5 yards a sack... 

That would make him 46 carries 310 yards and 2TDs.. vs Rourke(taking out his sack yardage)... 26 carries 165 yards and 2TDs. 

For sure more of a threat than torn ACL Rourke.

The first 30 seconds of this highlight video give you a good idea of Mendoza’s mobility.  He’s absolutely a threat, and can pick up big chunks of yards with his speed.

Thats seriously screwed up.  I would think the NFL/NBA players association would have an interest in stopping this.  Otherwise in 20 years you will have leagues full of players conditioned to paying more in commission for the same work

Personally, I don't believe him.  Have to remember there like 6 times the number of D1 college football players compared to NFL players and 11 times the number D1 college basketball players compared to NBA players.  Law of supply and demand says that there is no way college players would be so desperate that they'd be paying 20% commission UNLESS the agent also served to hunt down those NIL opportunities.
