If you can talk yourself into Florida State being left out last year but not IU this year, you’re a better man than me. Let’s hope it doesn’t come down to it. but they will definitely leave iu out for a big name team with one more loss…just like FSU last year. this minny game is so close right now…. Quote

Doesn't really matter if Day is a D*ck or not, he's just trying to better his chances of winning a National Championship! Ohio State's seeding is NOT going to come down to whether or not they won 38-15 or 31-15 today. JerryYeagley23 1 Quote

In this scenario, Notre Dame won’t be a 2-loss SEC champion and the field is 12 instead of 4 so yeah I feel pretty good about it. Not even close to the same situation. Today is playing out pretty well for us so far, too bad Fleck just played the end of their game like a big giant sissy. go iu bb and thebigweave 2 Quote

Very true about FSU. But on the other hand they were bounced out of a 4 team playoff rather than a 12 team one. I won’t be shocked at all if we lose out to a 2,3,4,5 loss SEC team but there is hope. Perfectly natural for them to give us a little back. moyemayhem and LamarCheeks 2 Quote

Is this a serious post? You're comparing a 4-team playoff to a 12-team playoff. FSU was ranked #5 in last year's final poll. They would have easily been in this year's CFP. Quote

I am not sure what is messing people up here. 4, 12, 64….it doesn’t matter. I’m talking about comparing teams to IU for one of the last at large spots. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote

Probably not....but teams have been running up the score on each other all season! We should never have been in that position, shouldn't have onside kicked and shouldn't have let them run for 50 yards! The kid should've scored. You only don't score on that play when the other team would still have a chance to beat you. Quote
HoosierFan1994 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Worst part about the loss is that it had all the ingredients at the start for IU to win this game: Stopped OSU on opening possession. Drove down, made it 7-0. Goal Line Stand. Huge Red Zone INT. Thought if it was 7-7 going into half you have to feel good. Dropped snap changed everything. Ohio State is obviously the much better team. I think OSU along with Oregon are the two best teams in college football. Screw the SEC... I still love this team. I hate that the 2nd half was their worst football all year. Knew as soon as the PR TD happened the game was probably over. Still think this is a playoff team. I think they will be ranked 9th (10 seed) or 8th (9 seed) if Bama loses. Quote
Popular Post JerryYeagley23 Posted November 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2024 I think it’s worth everyone relaxing. We played the second best team in the country on the road and lost on two special teams plays and a score with 30 seconds left that should have been a kneel down. That’s not a bad loss for a 1-loss team. Bama is currently losing 17-3 against a 5-5 Oklahoma team. They have a heisman fromt runner at QB. They have 3 points. Minnesota for all intents and purposes beat PSU tonight. We’re fine. Penn State lost as the #5 team in the country to #3 OSU at home and fell to (wait for it.. #6) We have earned our spot in the playoff. Did we earn a home game? Probably not. But first season coach Curt Cignetti has a group off JMU transfers and some MAC guys in a national championship playoff. Life is good. Let’s enjoy the ride. Edit: Bama down 24-3 in the 4th quarter. Jalen Milroe 6-16 for 97 yards. Makes Rourke’s numbers look decent. “Any given Sunday” cthomas, Hoosier DaDa, thebigweave and 5 others 8 Quote

Take care of business against Purdue. The optics would be awful for them leaving out an 11-1 B1G team. Quote

Honestly I felt we wouldn’t recover from that 3rd and 35 we gave up but the D hung tough. You can’t survive things like that on the road. The good news is: I think every problem we had today was mental. Physically we competed. That bodes well for the playoffs, imo bird4par 1 Quote

Respectfully, my original point wasn’t about whether scoring on the last drive by Day was beneficial for his team in the metrics. It was strictly a plea, for CCC and anyone in the IU program to recognize what a classless move it was to disrespect a fellow top-5 team like that, and remember it if/WHEN we start recruiting the guys to better matchup with a $20M dollar team of five stars. I hope, as the competitor I believe CCC to be, he won’t forget that. I can’t imagine a Nick Saban, etc. would take that and let it slide off his shoulder as something any top tier program would do given the same opportunity to take a knee and end a game against competition they consider respectable peers. sirhoosierlot, thebigweave, cthomas and 2 others 5 Quote

He also thought OSU was able to time up some of the silent counts, thus being awfully quick off the ball. Quote
