schoosier Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Should have went to the pros like Woody. Cut your teeth there for a few years like Sampson and go back to a college head job. Woody would give him a reference. Quote

A lot of former managers don't even make it to that level as CBB coaching / Support Staff is not an easy profession to break into. He's going to be just fine as he has a lot of connections. skhoosier2, MemphisHoosier, AZ Hoosier and 6 others 9 Quote

It was that firing an assistant coach in the first week of the season is usually a sign of dysfunction within the program. Something we came to expect with a program led by Mike Woodson. Why not just be happy for an IU guy to have found a place for a new start. Class of '66 Old Fart, OliviaPope40, AZ Hoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

How is that extreme? I’ve literally never heard of UTRGV, have you? People were literally saying he’d be at Michigan and a recruiting thorn in our side. Why would I feel compelled to root for somebody fired for insubordination? Hoosierfanyuh 1 Quote

I have genuinely never heard of UTRGV. I thought he was supposed to be a rising star in the industry based on peoples reactions when he was let go. Seems like an odd choice to land. Nothing more, nothing less. Quote

He had more direct contact with a great many of our offers than our head coach. He kept our name in front of a lot of the kids and did it remotely since he was not certified to be an on-the-road recruiter. go iu bb, 8bucks and OliviaPope40 3 Quote

Is that why he got fired, or did a paranoid coach think he was ratting him out to the AD and maybe a certain media site? Serious question. WayneFleekHoosier and Redcamaro 2 Quote
