Ultimately, I think TJ will/would win out BUT if Lewis is as advertised Lewis would benefit by sitting behind TJ for one year.

There's also Cherry. He was a 4* so he was thought to be pretty good too.

Now the concern for Lewis might be that the coaching staff he commits to won't be here next year. A familiar concern for IU fans, but for the opposite reason as usual.

Matt Weaver was on the Hysterics pod and mentioned that Julian will likely visit Coach Prime & Colorado this weekend. It's worth monitoring as Lewis is an early enrollee and will make his decision in the coming weeks.

interesting as Julian was due to come to IU to visit potentially this weekend.  if he doesn't visit IU this weekend and visits Colorado IMO he's all but certainly not flipping and picking IU

From my understanding from the On3 podcast is that it is Colorodo this weekend and IU for the Michigan game.

A few takeaways from that:

  1. It sure as hell feels like a Colorado vs. IU battle. If i had to place odds, USC would be third most likely.
  2. If he doesn't make another IU visit by the end of UM weekend? We're out.
  3. If he makes it to the Michigan game? I love that Rourke will be back by then. It is easier for him to envision his role next year if the successful QB is a guy that won't be back next year.
  4. Colorado hasn't beaten any really good teams and they have a pretty strong Cincinnati opponent this weekend - here's hoping the Buffs lose and Coach Prime throws players under the bus in their postgame.

If it’s not IU I really need it to not be Colorado. Seems like a great kid and I don’t want to actively cheer against him but the roots of my Prime loathing are pushing 40 years deep now. Maybe my all-time least favorite guy in sports.

(Tough love for @Demo):

Same here...... So much so that I can't, have never and will never call him by his "stage name/names". It's just Coach or Deon Sanders. lol

Several of Julians current high school teammates will be with him at the Michigan game per Steve Wiltfong.  Not sure if it was previously mentioned about multiple teammates joining Lewis on the visit or not.

I seem to recall one of his WR’s being a top 100 kid in ‘26, though I might have that wrong.

My inside source (FWIW) told me that Lewis is looking for $2.5 million in NIL....and that the thought among staff is that it makes more sense to either stay within the program or go the Rourke-type route than commit that kind of money to a freshman.

I think that would probably be a pass, but at least in football you know you’re getting the player for 3 years and can use a kid like that to build your program. It’s not like what BYU is supposedly(can’t believe it’s actually true) offering AJ Dybantsa for a guaranteed 1 year and gone.

NO WAY!  I don’t support that nonsense.  He’d be a pine rider anyway. Gezz!   Let’s follow the Cig. He knows to lead us in the right direction. We need HIS type guys who buy in etc.

IU still has Jackson and Cherry on the roster already getting familiar with the system and being developed by the coaching staff. Plus, they seem to have an eye for talent so the portal is always an option as well if Lewis decides to go to Colorado (definitely possible) or stay with USC (looking more and more unlikely).
