Like you stated, that is why they need to be good OReb team to mitigate those bad shooting nights.  Hopefully, with so many shooters, there will be one or 2 that are hitting when a couple of others have an "off night".  So far, it looks like he is putting a team together that will work hard which is what IU fans will appreciate.

Yeah.  My ears are still bleeding from listening to Dick Vitale scream “they need to throw the ball into Cody” every possession, every time he did one of our games.

I was screaming the same thing. Zeller was just that good. Same for TJD. Same for DJ white. Same for Jeffries. Some dudes are that good and worth it. This roster does have that.

Idk if we’ll ever be a great offensive rebounding team. I don’t think DDV really emphasizes that if I remember correctly

It's kind of weird thing. Because it's great to be able to grab 2nd chances. At the same time, gotta capitalize. At the same time, high offensive rebounding numbers(per game) means you're missing a lot. A high FG% mixed with a high OFF Reb% is ideal.

It shouldn’t increase your variance much if you can do all the other things you mentioned and win multiple ways. 
 

Otherwise it’s a sub-optimal strategy in a sport that comes down to one single elimination tournament.  
 

(I’m ultimately fine with whatever CDD does next year, in that regard, because nobody is or should be expecting him to be making a deep tourney run in year 1).

And it still wasn't enough. Against Kentucky, he took to Anthony Davis and outplayed him in both games. That was a common theme against most opponents. Seemed we tried to force it more against the teams he struggled against like Minnesota and Syracuse.

Would definitely start, but now you're getting into the "only one ball" territory. Unless Wilkerson and DeVries become catch and shoot guys, that's a lot of high usage players on the court at once.

I am not sure but Devries wants more ball movement and player movement and from watching USC some this year that wasn't how Claude scored
