Dumb and doesn’t put in the work. So you aren't going to count Appalachian State even though they fit the criteria of your statement? That was a good Appalachian State team to boot......they won the regular season Sun Belt conference and swept a James Madison team who were 32-4 and beat Michigan State on the road and Wisconsin in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Just seems like you are throwing them out because they didn't back the narrative you stated. Even just focusing on the games he played against P5 competition (UCF, Cincy, Houston, U Conn) he shot 25 of 65 (39%) and 15 of 37 (41%) from three and averaged 20.8 points in those games. Seems to me you only want to focus on the Houston and U Conn games which -- in a totally unshocking development -- he didn't shoot well against teams ranked 2nd and 6th defensively in games where his team was extremely mismatched. I'm not even saying I want Blackmon, just saying your take on his numbers isn't accurate. AH1971 1 Quote

Blackmon wouldn’t be part of my preferred roster construction, but a couple of points really need to be addressed here: 1) If you don’t think Jalen Blackmon isn’t a better player than Evan Gordon I would question if you know what you’re watching. 2) If you’re going to insult the kid by calling him dumb and lazy, I think you really need to support that with very specific examples of behavior that you have witnessed to reach that conclusion. Because in my experience with D-1 athletes, some are smarter than others and some work harder than others, but the percentage of those kids who don’t work miles harder at their craft than the population in general is infinitesimal. I also wouldn't call a kid whose scoring has went from 2.7 pts to 15.4 pts to 21.3 pts and has consistently raised his shooter percentage plus shot over 90% from the line as a kid who doesn't work on his game. Stuhoo Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 I think Blackmon could be pretty good on a P5 team that has a system that spreads the floor and runs actions for shooters. IU is clearly currently not that system. If Woody had Blackmon run that flipping zoom action I’d wanna punch my tv. MemphisHoosier, thebigweave, Napleshoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

Demo Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Wonder if this is a little bit of old news and IU reached out before the Tucker commitment. But, fwiw. 6’7” wing who’s shot right at 40% from 3 over the last 2 years on a little over 4 attempts per game. All CAA last year. 1 year left. thebigweave, lillurk, HoosierHoopster and 1 other 4 Quote

Is there consistency doing that? Any pull up shooting abilities? Thanks Yes and yes...he improved as the year went on and this was his first year in D1. rcbowla 1 Quote

A little patience—guessing it won’t be all that long. And most points coming in desperation with 5 seconds on the shot clock after standing in the left corner waiting on a pass that usually never came. Seems familiar to what we see now.
