Why do you keep stating the bold as if it were fact?

Eight players is the standard rotation of basketball coaches on all levels. No one has the talent for 11 players to play regularly, the NBA doesn't even do that. Woodson is going to count on eight, maybe nine guys to play during the Big Ten season and post-season. He'll play 10-11 when Indiana plays the school of the blind in the non-conference. By the time the regular season rolls around, Woodson will know who is top eight are and will roll with it.

IMO - Newton and Leal are out of the rotation at this point.

Goodman will still say we need shooters.

Rice / Cupps

Trey / Kaanan / Connor

Mack / Tucker /

Malik /

Ballo /

That's nine players without any back-up forwards at the moment. It would be Woodson's most talented team to date. Newton and Leal out of the rotation.

I’m going to be surprised if Trey starts. Play a lot sure but I see him coming off the bench with the 2nd unit. Bc you know there will be a second unit. lol

Malone. Essegian.

Filled and done.

I understand Essigian. He can obviously shoot lights out when he's healthy. I worry about anyone with possible back issues, though. But, what is the allure of Malone? Can someone explain it to me like I'm stupid? And I just may be.

I saw his highlight video and he seems really s-l-o-w...

A skilled 5 who can play 10 mpg that serves depth purposes. Every good team has that.

The thing the national guys don't understand...

Rice was a 33% 3 point shooter before he missed 22 straight.

Mgbako was horrible at the start of the year and got better. Ended up at 33%. 2nd half of the Big Ten season (last ten B1G games) he was shooting around 40% from 3. Was bad in the BTT.

Carlyle 32%

All 3 have the potential to be MUCH better. They'll put in the work and hopefully our staff puts them in the right spot.

Newton was very highly regarded before he got injured.  He hasn’t played in two years.  He needs minutes in live game action.  I agree with your top 7 and Cupps is going to play.  Leal idk we will see.  I’m not saying Newton is going to play a lot of minutes.  Who knows what he will look like, but I do think he needs to see the court imo.  If he can get back to where he was he will most certainly get minutes, probably a lot of them.

If we have the luxury, there is no need to rush him.  A major injury like that takes time to come back from, not only physically, but emotionally.  Going to have to re-learn to trust that knee.  I'd prefer to see him as a stud in his later years, than rush him back now.

There were 3 freshman who shot over 35% from 3 on volume last year. You'll quickly find those kind of freshman don't grow on trees. I believe you'll find even the most prolific 3 point shooters improved steadily throughout their careers. Expect the same for all 3 of our soon to be sophomores.
