Reneau.is.not.coming.off.the.bench.

….don’t do that, lol! The punctuation between words kept me stopping and starting…I felt like a robot reading it! Lol

Our best lineup would include Ballo at the C. I would take what you said above but with Oumar at the C. Reneau off bench.

That's just not realistic

With a good coach it would be. But agreed with ours it’s not.

To stay on topic though: given the influx of guard talent it would make sense to reexamine our “ideal” lineups as I agree, more shooting and quickness on the defensive end are needed. Reneau spending time as a small ball 5 for some of the game would help a lot with this. Having him be first off the bench for Ballo instead of having some random backup big come in is likely the best utilization of our talent.

With our NIL. Absolutely. Like I said…Essegian isn’t a needle mover, this guy would be.

Nil Sweepstakes move imo.  And projected first round pick???

Fit is hard to see, but I do kinda like the player.  Seems like a Woody type of guy.

I am all aboard for needle movers

I  love Thiero. He's an absolute dog and plays with his hair on fire. i don't see the fit lol with our lack of shooters but he would be a great four honestly here. He has a lot of potential. Stacking talent is the name of the game. A rice, carlyle, Mgbako, Thiero, Ballo lineup is really fun. Athleticism everywhere and I think the shooting would be good enough. They'd get up and down the court and be able to switch pretty much everything on defense.

Hard to land 3 point shooters when you don't shoot 3s.

Not that hard. What is hard is trying to land a pure specialist who doesn’t upgrade you in any other way against the backdrop of a roster of 4-5 guards who don’t do that specialty as well but everything else better resulting in a muddled path to playing time. His path at Nebraska is crystal clear.

Struggling to see the fit here. Actually, that's a lie. Don't see the fit at all.

I'm not sure how he's a projected 1st rd pick. What if he wants to come here and RS? That's unrealistic, but it'd be nice haha

Adou Thiero(6'8" 222lbs listed as a guard on ESPN but more likely a SF imo) visited IU during his original recruitment coming out of high school, a versatile defender and has a high motor.  Isn't Bryson Tucker considered to be very similar to that of Adou?  Can you imagine them two on the court together.

He actually grew two inches between high school and his sophomore year so he has the size of a forward with the ball handling skills of a guard. He's going to be a stud with a bigger role. I know kentucky fans were really sad to lose him.
