I would imagine Claude would start here, could start at the 2 or 3 given he is 6'6"

He’s much closer to a 1 than a 2 or 3 with how much the ball is in his hand. He’s likely a better polished college version of JHS. Which isn’t a bad thing, but what do you then with Enright/Conerway? None of those 3 are good enough shooters to play together in the back court.

They wouldn't ask a player that just committed to leave now that the portal is closed, would they?  You would have to think they reached out before they got the last couple of commits, or they are trying to get as much talent as possible.

I don’t think he’s coming here. Going to be too out of budget.

Pretty good player but is very ball dominant and doesn't appear to fit the style that Devries runs on offense

Would rather have Nick Dorn if we are taking another guard/wing. Two years of eligibility and not as ball dominant .

What about weekend visits? When are the bigs coming?

He’s more than likely not going to IU anyways not sure why every one gets their panties in a wad every time someone is mentioned lol he’s the new coach let him do him

I’d be surprised if a lot of these media reports aren’t agent driven. Always looks good to have a high dollar school or two on the list even if the interest isn’t exactly high.

Idk if we’ll ever be a great offensive rebounding team. I don’t think DDV really emphasizes that if I remember correctly

Going after offensive rebounds comes at a cost... if you don't get them you are giving the other team an opportunity to push in transition and get an easy basket.  I'm guessing since DDV values scoring in transition, he also prioritizes minimizing opponents' transition opportunities.  Hence not emphasizing offensive rebounding.

DDV emphasized during his press conference getting back on defense and getting set and stopping the ball.  On offense, getting out and running and scoring within 12 seconds is his goal.  I dont expect us to be very good at offensive rebounding.

IMHO offensive rebounding is more important for bad shooting teams.

Using this site as a guide you are generally correct NCAA Basketball Stats - NCAA BB Team Defensive Rebounds per Game | TeamRankings.com.  However, there are some years where his teams have been very good.  Check out Drake in 2022/23 as an example of the very good.

I am going to guess he doesn't end up here either, but you have to ask yourself too if he was so ball dominant our of necessity at USC, or was the coach wanting the ball in his hands, etc....it may be how he was coached to play. Just a thought.

If I remember correctly, USC was thin in the frontcourt and the guards and wings were the primary scorers.

Dorm fits the Luke Goode position, especially if Goode doesn’t get a waiver

Is there a projected time line for a decision on Goode's petition for another year? Also, Tucker DeVries also needs a waiver, but assume that's an easy one...

nothing with the NCAA is ever easy for some reason.

Shot blocking can be a bit overrated I think. We need a tandem of 5's that can give us a 40mpg stat line around:

15ppg/12rpg(4 offensive)60fg% 70ft% and play smart positional defense. Waterman and Scott were 13 and 10 combined and Louisville put 3 wings and Hepburn around that and won 27 games. Not the Big Ten but they had key  injuries too. Bailey is more capable than Waterman, I think. Scott's in the portal and already knows the role, get him. If you can get Baba too? We'd be in great shape.

When you're taken to the wood shed on the glass it's mostly effort and you lose.

Goode-there are players like Dorn out there that didn't sit at a podium after a game with less than a year in a Hoosier uniform and "address" the fan base. There should be zero residue of that left in the locker room.
