Remove his kid and he still brought in a really good class to WVU last year. That was centered around Javon Small though.

All of these players know each other and talk so maybe some of these players didn't like how the fans treated the players last year. Like it or not this can be a factor in these guys minds.

DDv had the sixth ranked transfer class last year at WVU. That needs to be replicated this cycle given the money we have

 

This is a fair take. If it does not come to fruition sort of begs the question… why could he do that at WVU and not IU. Is this portal less talented? Or is IU just not that attractive right now? Hmm

From what I have been told, if DDV doesn't think the player fits like Pack, he will not even go after him let alone overpay.

Have heard L'ville gave Conwell an offer he couldn't refuse. North of $2 mill. IU was around $1.8

I appreciate the resistance to not jump and automatically overpay someone. Long time before rosters are set and more names will enter. 

Also, remember, contrary to past seasons, DDV has a process to building his roster, not just acquiring a bunch of talented players and hoping they fit.

$400K difference is very substantial difference for many ages, especially someone in the early 20s.  Easy to see why he chose UL.

Fans are bad every where only inflated for iu cause woody made it out that everything was the fans fault

lol Hard to turn down a $400K increase at IU from UL, it makes sense why he chose UL lol.  Also UL not much further of a drive to where he is from compared to IU

Agree. Still in the Midwest, NCAA tourney team that shoots it, 400K is a bunch of money.

I'm interested to see how L'ville fills the rest of their roster, they have to be running out of money...

Kelsey is an excellent coach.

$400k (if that really is the difference) for a kid that could blow out his knee, or never play in the NBA is real money.

Hopefully we didn’t lose Ryan Comwell over a measly 400k. Kid wins everywhere he goes and shoots >40% from 3 on high volume.

If he chose UL for basketball reasons…then fine I guess. But DDv had Javon Small shooting 7+ 3’s a game last year. There’s film of essentially the offense he’ll be running at IU.

So assuming Enright is wrapped up that puts us at 2/4 with the comitts being the coaches son and his former Mid-Major PG ? Doesn’t inspire a whole lot of excitement.

Maybe I look at the portal differently but I don't want all the portal players being seniors. I want most of them having at least two years of eligibility so we might be able to build a foundation for the program. I just don't want to be in this same place next year having to build the whole roster again. Guys like Conwell or Dix would be great but will only be here 1 year. Also I don't want to throw money at players who are good but not great. I like Conwell but he is now on his 4th team in 4 years and only made the tournament once. I would also hope we can at least get two more high school recruits to go along with Sisley because that will help building the foundation. I would really like to see the guard who was committed to WVU to come here.

I’ll be interested to see if any Cincy players will enter the portal after they’re done in the Crown. Would think they would’ve opted out of that though. I think once we get our stuff set we’ll be seeing alot more names we like. I have my eyes out for Overton from Texas Tech as one of them.

Can I ask what has he really won in 3 years of college. He has been on one tournament team and they barely made the tournament.
