Hope someone has the sense to tell Northwestern we're wearing those things. 

Once they stop laughing, they'll hopefully agree to wear white -- or at the very least, purple. 

They sometimes like to wear black on the road. 

That would be all kinds of effed up.

Been waiting for something or somebody to put the fear of God in these boys since rmk left. Hopefully this is it. I know those helmets can't hurt our 3 point shooting we are good to go. Plus if a welding contest breaks out we will be prepared! Let's go!

Won't hurt our rebounding or free throw shooting either.

Maybe they'll see those as a punishment and play better so they never have to wear them again.

The marketing here is a miss. I could see these being pretty clean when we see them on the court and not on a cyborg at a distance.

Don’t love the jerseys but I agree with Hov that they may look cool when you see them on the court with shorts on actual ball players. Also maybe I don’t love them, but I like the fact that we are doing something different. Who knows maybe there will be a NOB and really make everyone mad.  I’d like to see it.

We've needed to attempt a black jersey forever.  I'm all for it.

Black is fine and definitely want red as the contrast and not white but I don't like the font used for the number and name.  Reminds me of a kindergartener's block printing,

I don't think these are great, but even as an old guy, I'm all for anything that could help freshen up the staleness around the program.

if the players and potential recruits like this sort of thing, then I’m all for it. 
 

the IU fans are all in an uproar over it on social media. The noise from the fans is more embarrassing than the uniform itself (which I think is hideous). 
 

we are collectively the “old man yelling at the clouds”.

Not a fan of these at all. I like a black jersey concept, but this just seems really lazily executed. I do think they'll look better on the court than in the weird marketing photo shoot, but that shouldn't be hard to do. It feels like jersey design overall has really regressed in recent years.

Glad you asked.  Well, change is inevitable.  I'm thinking that lots of young people may have been clamoring for IU teams to sport black unis.  

So I just hope that they look better on the court than in these promo pictures.

I didn't like the dirty looking new uniforms.

And I wonder about the font being used.  Looks digital.  I have asked my daughter, the graphic designer, what she thinks. My 30-something year old nephew says they look like an 80's digital alarm clock numerals.  Says everything is painted black in his neighborhood just south of the circle in Indy.  

I could now dial up the snark.  I could ask if the players if they'd wear the face shields during the game. And, maybe the helmets would be a good idea playing in the Big Ten.  I read on that other site when one fan posted that he'd give a hard pass...but IU doesn't do hard passes. I feel like the Wizard of Oz when I say that the one thing that we do have is tradition... Wonder if the candy stripes will fit over that.

So I won't say anything until I see it on court.  Hope it looks great.

And I hope IU is learning to get over that hump.  The have been working on it.

I want variety and while I'm sure these will look better on court I just don't personally love them but I'll take anything at this point. As@Hovadipo said, big marketing miss. Whoever was in charge should be making coffee and shredding papers.
