I hope Dusty doesn't go to OSU. But I have to say it brings a smile to my face that Holtmann got canned. I didn't like the way how it was leaked that he supposedly turned us down.

He undoubtedly used that to get an extension with OSU.

Also the fact he told Goodman that OSU is a better job than IU. That and Woodson a guy we want to get rid of has winning record against him. I love the karma.

Because of Archie Miller.  That soured me and I am sure there are more fans out there that are a little apprehensive about going back the mid-major route

I think Woodson was clueless on who to hire, most of his connects were NBA folk. Therefore, we have many Archie members still left. Nonetheless, Indiana needs to make the move.

I just don't understand the correlation, respectfully. Bob Knight was a mid-major guy. Sean Miller, Brad Stevens, Thad Matta. Yeah we hired one that was absurdly qualified and didn't work. 

Doug McDermott, Porter Moser, Dan Hurley is pretty pretty good.

Indiana needs to lose out for something to happen. Unless Woodson clearly doesn't want to do it anymore. But you're talking about a stubborn old fart, he's going to finish this out until he can't.

Look firing a coach after 3 years generally isn't a good thing. But context matters. This is a guy who came as a short term hire. He was supposed to turn things around quickly and stabilize things.  He hasn't, and if you have a guy who can fix things you move now. 

You got to stop the bleeding before it gets worse.

Mike Woodson even said Mike Woodson came back "to win Big Ten titles and a national title". Does Mike Woodson think Mike Woodson has got IU and Mike Woodson closer to those goals?

Metrics say no. On Torvik, Mike Woodson is currently worse (90) than both predecessor's year 3 which is saying something to be worse than Archie Miller (56) and Tom Crean's 3rd year (85) in the midst of a total rebuild.

Maybe we can find a rule that says those that speak in 3rd person are finished after their 3rd season.

It didn’t sour the administration who went right back to the well and tried to hire Brad Stevens. Were you happy when he was rumored to have the job?  
 

Davis = high level assistant

 Sampson = P5 move over

 Tom Crean = NonP5 but major bball conf move over

 Archie = mid major

Woody = NBA guy and alum

 

IU has literally tried every angle and still screwed it up every time. The only winning formula is getting the best candidate possible and giving them the resources to succeed.

I never thought Dolson would fire Tom Allen because of the buyout….I think if we fail to make the tournament, almost certain at this point, and he wants May….he might just pull the trigger!

I'm really curious how much heat Dolson faces. He's had to buy out two coaches already, he's going on his third buy-out here.
