Really hope we hear SOMETHING prior to the Ohio State game.

I hope to but sadly we won't imo. Yesterday was the day to move on. I am afraid we are stuck riding a woody into Columbus and seeing if we cum to play [emoji38]

Chris, I hope it works this time.  I won’t give up the thought of getting Stevens.  His dream is to coach at IU.  I still think it’s a match made in heaven for both sides.  Call me crazy but I still believe IU is going to get him.  I just really hope this time is the time.

Well you were right about Romeo maybe use your power of positivity as you did back 2018.

Getting way ahead of myself, but is anyone else concerned about Stevens slow tempo? I assume he can adjust his style to better fit modern play, and I know he had Horizon League / A10 teams.... but here are his tempo rankings:

#328

#274

#286

#262

#218

It sure would be nice getting some concrete info today about the leadership direction of this basketball team.

.....I mean, getting a group of people together yesterday to formally discuss Coach Woodson's exit strategy is pretty serious talk, which only means one thing...... Now, when will this all come out? lol

No.  He’s a great coach and a great GM.  He has figured out every new challenge he has taken on.  He would adjust as needed to succeed in 2025 CBB.

Unfortunately, he is a slim chance to come here.

An alias? You mean this isn't the real Tasmanian Devil? Nah, just my first and last initials. You're giving me way too much credit lol.

Simply a fan who thought Woodson deserved a 4th season and the chance to turn it around. I wasn't quite ready to join the mob last offseason.

AH1971 finally grabbed his pitchfork he is ready to burn to the ground lol

There's not enough season left for that

You heard anything else that makes you confident they are leaning towards naming an interim replacement rather than letting him ride out the season then “retire”?

Day late and dollar short.

If we lose Friday at OSU, especially in blowout fashion, I strongly feel Mike Woodson has coached his last game at Assembly Hall without having announced his impending "retirement".

Our athletic department isn't stupid. They know the damage that will ensue by empty seats, cascades of boos, "Fire Woodson" chants, etc.

Any truth to the rumor that the students are going to protest at the Maryland game? Imo, that would make a statement.

I have not heard that. My son has season tickets and hasn't said anything. But they pretty much protested the second half of the ILL game

That would seem to be like the most likely scenario. Team isn't due to play at home until 1/26 with two road games prior. Lose both and I would guess there is some kind of announcement regarding Woodson's future before they tip off.

I am pretty optimistic Dolson will get to make the call on the new coach.  A new coach has to happen end of season.

But, I tend to doubt the group of idiots ("stakeholders") that influence IUBB have the fortitude to fire Woody midseason and figure out an interim coach setup that can get something out of this very expensive $6M team.  This would be a very difficult and delicate management change that only very talented leaders can pull off.  With all the stakeholders involved in our stupid program, IUBB likely doesn't even have the organizational structure in place to allow Scott, with Pam's support, to go in and make a daring and gutsy midseason coaching change.  Woody almost certainly still has some stakeholders on this side and they would probably go wild internally and cause problems that make trying this not worth it.

The easy road for IUBB is to buckle down with Woody until the end of the season.  They probably take this option.

In order to have any attempt at changing the direction of this season, a change has to happen now! Unfortunately I don’t think it will because Woody’s ego still and QBall’s backing, they will convince the stakeholders that he can change the outcome of the season because he will get two big pieces to the puzzle back in Cupps and Reneau and the cherry on top is we finally get to start using Newton in the rotation and that will make all the difference in world to get over that giant hump!  Lol

I just don’t want a chance at a lucky performance at Ohio State or Northwestern to buy Woodson more time before he’s out. It’s fools gold. We know how he acts, we know how the team acts/plays. Ohio State could happen to have an off game and we get lucky to win and then Woodson beats his chest saying see, I told you so, I’m the king. Screw that crap.
