Alright guy, I need you to atleast change your profile pic because I associate the Pink C with Chris007 and am greatly disappointed when I think I am about to read a good nugget of info and it’s not him lol. Jk.

If some of you who think that the decision has already been made then why not just announce it now. You are going off the fact that he has stopped doing his weekly show and his demeanor on the court to tell you that he knows he is done. Wouldn't it be better for that to be announced now so the heat can be taken off of him

If you think that is all I'm going off than you are mistaken.

The reason it hasn't been announced is that the King still thinks he's going to make some miraculous tournament run and save his job.

If they get skunked tonight, I absolutely would and let Cheaney finish up the season. See if he could salvage something.

I am not saying to fire him at mid season but to announce his retirement at the end of the season. Changing at the mid point if the season won't do anything and you don't take the chance if us getting hit and thinking of hiring the interim as  full time. Mike Davis announced with like 7 games left he wasn't coming back and after that they started winning

I'd prefer one of the three assts, but I'm fine with moving on midseason.

No interim coaches. Can not take a chance on the Deibler/OSU scenario. The outcome of this season was determined last Spring. Let it play out as expected.

Cheaney? No

I’m talking about just for the rest of this season. He has experience coaching.  I actually think he could rally the troops for two months (see it all the time in sports)

I honestly don’t even think Cheaney would want the job.  And I’m sure he and Dolson would go into it with “no matter how this turns out, we’re hiring Dusty or Brad”

Assuming Cheaney doesn’t want it, I’d prefer him with this team for two months than the current roller coaster we are on.

Nothing Brad has done in his career has had a prior precedent. There's also a very recent even more outlandish move that happened in college sports and if you've listened there's good logic that could apply to Brad and coaching in college as well.

If he was 70 and no one wanted him in the league I’d actually think our chances were better a la Bill Belichek lol

I mentioned it already, assuming you were referring to this sure to be disaster of hire lol. I agree that from a structural perspective if what has been reported there is true it lends itself to a coach being more CEO now. Unfortunately I think it is more apt to football where you aren’t building a super close relationship with 100 players versus basketball. Basketball by its very make up now is going to require more hands on approaches from the head coach. There are definitely facets of the BB plan that could be used in basketball but I think the fundamental differences in the two sports would prevent how much you could limit the HCs exposure to NIL and transfer stupidity.

As far as the Belichek hiring goes compared to Brad I don’t really think it correlates. Bill Belichek is not coaching UNC because he has some great desire to be there, he’s coaching UNC because no one will hire him in the NFL. He interviewed all over the league and got no jobs. Obviously there’s a level of love of the game given he’s a septuagenarian and outlandishly wealthy, but let’s not pretend he’s coaching college instead of coaching in the NFL. Brad would be the opposite.

It sounds to me like you really don't want Brad Stevens at IU. OK Dusty for you, option #2

If we lose tonight, that’s 13-5 and 4-3 in conference.  Doesn’t look like a record that gets someone fired midseason.

I don’t really care.  This season was likely a failure the minute we kept Woody.  It’s unlikely anyone on our staff could materially improve this team.

That’s the beauty of the cupcake. Schedule a bunch of nobodies and your record still looks pretty good in mid-January. Unfortunately for Woodson, there aren’t anymore Chattanoogas or Winthrops on the schedule to squeak out 9 point wins against.

I don’t care. I wouldn’t even do that

That's why Woodson scheduled all those cupcakes to take on his 6 million dollar team. Beat a bunch of nobodies your record looks pretty good. Woodson knew what he was doing

We had four non-cupcake/non-conference games: UL, Gonzaga, Providence, and South Carolina. All are 82 or better in KenPom. We went 2-2 for those, winning the easier two of the four.

We didn't engineer our early B1G schedule, but it sure has been far easier to date than it's going to be starting tonight. Minnesota, USC, and Rutger are destined to be bottom half teams, and we've already had our one and only whack at them. So 4-2 in conference with three road games seems good, but it's more than a little deceptive to use as a projection forward.
