Not gonna be the guy accused of not showing up.
Read most of this thread and agree with whoever said that there’s a lot of regurgitation of the same ol’ same ol’.
Here’s my opinion. Blast away if you feel the need.
Woodson’s overall philosophy on offense is wrong and has been shown to be so over the last few games. However he is a decent X’s and O’s coach. He has also shown that he can develop big guys.
He has failed to develop a sense of toughness with his teams, and for that reason we will continue to wilt and get run over by quality teams. His seemingly unwillingness to discipline guys has created an environment where the inmates are running the asylum. This may in part be due to the dynamics college sports are in now. Where the players have been given so much leverage with NIL money and the revolving door that is the portal. I think Woodson doesn’t realize, or doesn’t care that regardless of how much money these guys are making, they are still a bunch of young guys who are going to do immature things, are going to be incredibly inconsistent, and who need a firm, guiding hand… and repercussions when they screw up.
If Woodson can’t do this, or doesn’t believe it’s his job to do so, then there needs to be that guy or guys on the team who will… who will get in guys’ faces when needed. Who won’t back down when we get punched in the face, but will punch back. All of our quality teams had that guy. For as much criticism he gets here, deservedly so, Quinn Buckner was that guy. Jim Thomas was that guy. Kitchell, Hillman, Mike Lewis, Chris Reynolds, Fife… all were that guy. Sheehey was probably the last guy who was that guy.
Sorry for the length of this. Had some time to think about stuff. Won’t demean Woodson but he and the product on the floor are an embarrassment. 
Please get past yourself CMW and do what’s in the best interest of the university you proclaim to love.

I see a little of that.

But, I do not perceive Coach Woody as even an average X's and O's coach.  His game plans are flawed.  Offensive plays are at times nonexistent.  He does not have any idea how to attack a zone.  Putting lineups in that are exceedingly flawed drives all of us nuts.  Blockouts and crowding 2 bigs inside prove he has no idea.  Not disciplining players that do not do their roles is also proof that he is not an X's and O's coach.  

One could have the position that to discipline or not is not X's and O's but how can a coach coach without discipline and requiring adherence to helping team and not be just about ME?

And I also believe that Coach Woody does not want to resign.  But if he is given a choice by the AD between being fired or resigning...he will negotiate a lump sum buyout and they will sign that...he would then resign.  But that won't happen until the end of IU's season.  Not sure about that though.  I just think that he is gone soon.

I think Quinn wanted to help his friend whose NBA career had hit a wall.  His IU contract was 4x what he was making as an NBA assistant.  Rich people love helping out their friends.  They made up other nonsense to justify it -- he's an IU guy, he's a bridge, and he will be a stabilizer.  The idea of hiring a coach on a shorter term basis to stabilize the program was total nonsense, nothing is more destabilizing than coaching changes.
Anyways here we are.  What a 3.5 years it's been.

That's all it was and now we wasted another 4 years

Honestly, would it be a bad thing to see Dusty come in and beat us at home? Rest assured many of us will be watching that game to see the dynamics.
 

It will most likely happen. So far this season the 13 wins are against garbage competition except an average Penn state team. But according to woodson we are playing well because we beat usc and Rutgers at home

This will be interesting. If Indiana is sputtering and Michigan is rolling coming into this game the chatter will be much louder not just about Woody being fired but about IU needing to specifically pursue May.

Mike Woodson, the current Indiana University basketball coach, has recently stated that "there shouldn't be anything floating around about my job, I've done my job," essentially asserting that he believes he has fulfilled his responsibilities as coach despite recent struggles with the team; this is often summarized as "I did my job" when referring to his coaching performance.

Probably some of both. Put a lot of trust in a freshman who had not played pg at that level. As time wore on he developed plays for JHS to create opportunities for him to shoot or dish to TJD. He also pulled Race out away from the basket to give Schifino more space

Meanwhile he’s got UM ranked and with the highest NET of any team in the B1G…the latter which I imagine Woody has never done for us. 
We messed up massively not grabbing May.
