I feel like I have a connection with Leal, Trey and Goode all being from Indiana. A connection with Ballo because we both like to eat and go to bars, and a connection with Rice because we all know someone who has gone through cancer. My son has hung out with Tucker some since their both freshman and has said he's a really good dude. Based on this post, damn near all of us have a connection to Ballo. But yea, we have a lot of idiot stakeholders running around and who knows what they might do. Home Jersey 1

Maybe we should put a picture of Taco Bell on the ball, and he will be more aggressive to it. He has all the skills and tools but man he has no motor to get after it that I can see. There is more to it than wins and losses. The program has no juice right now. I would hope that Dolson sees this with his own eyes and regardless of if IU makes a 68 field tournament they move on because it’s definitely in the best interest of the program. When my wife and kids are pointing out that there is a different feel in the building you know the program is in a bad spot. Curious if others that go frequently feel the same bad vibes that I felt last night Even watching the game you can tell AH is not rocking like it usually does. Probably some of that can be attributed to no students but not all of it Chris007 1

Really only Galloway and Goode fit that bill, and Goode has only been on the team for a few months. Leal plays some too I don’t want to sidetrack the conversation, but I’m just not a fan. Maybe it’s because I’m older now, maybe it’s because I don’t live in Indiana anymore, maybe it’s due to the transfer portal. I don’t know. But I really just don’t feel any connection. It used to feel like these are guys playing for my school. Now it just largely feels like a random group of dudes wearing IU jerseys. 7 of the 13 scholarship players this year are new, and 6 of them are transfers. Before we’d follow these guys in high school recruiting for a year or two before they’d get to campus. Now IU doesn’t really do high school recruiting and then we find out in April who will be on the team the following year. It’s not just an IU problem, but I don’t like it. Can you imagine how the old timers felt winning the title in ‘87 with guys like Dean Garrett and Keith Smart? Smart even got the last shot! Disgusting…and personally I don’t really count ‘87 as a true title. I’m being facetious (obviously). I kind of feel like you do, but then I remind my self it’s simply entertainment. My bigger problem with this team is that they aren’t very good and thus not very entertaining! I have a feeling if we were undefeated and ranked number 1 we’d all feel a stronger connection to Rice, Goode, etc…

The prognosis of Woody coming back is based on the 10-12 win, make the tourney scenario. Right now it's hurry up and wait, play some cupcakes and bottom of BIG teams. Season really starts Saturday at Iowa and gets more difficult from there. IF they continue to win, you'll see some mojo pick up around the program. IF not, look out below. I hear you however I thinks it’s past the point of winning will pick it back up. Even if he wins too many red flags for him being the coach past this year. I don’t run down through the list with winning on the court being the least important. I disagree with the season starting on Saturday. It started after the Bahamas. Call them cupcakes or bottom of the B1G however they still had to go out and win those games. I could argue I would want some of those conference games against the bottom sprinkled in between this 11 game Q1 stretch. My argument is that he should be gone regardless of how the rest of the season plays out. 15-5, 18-2, 5-15, 10-10 doesn’t matter to me how this seasons ends for me and this is just my opinion it’s time for a new leader to give life to the program. TheWatShot Posted January 9, 2025 Posted January 9, 2025 It would be incredibly irresponsible to retain a 67 year old coach who isn't actively recruiting anymore and is routinely skipping out on media sessions. The head coach at IU simply cannot be invisible to the public eye. It needs to be made clear to Woodson (if it hasn't already) that if he wants this job, he needs to put forth a lot more effort in these areas. thebigweave, Class of '66 Old Fart, Uspshoosier and 4 others 7

Bobby was still on Mount Olympus in 1987 but I know I began to become less interested in following the program when his teams began to tail off and his antics grew tiresome. The Davis and Sampson years have been deleted from my memory bank. Crean's personality absolutely drove me crazy. Archie had no personality. Woody has cigars and wine and nothing else. I'm hopeful our next coach (in the '25-'26 season) will have a public persona and aura very much similar to what Coach Cig has brought to IU football. Look how we've embraced a number of players on our football team. That would not be the case had we been our historically suck the hind t... football program. mamasa, WeeDerkaNaut, str8baller and 2 others 5

In theory yes but you don't normally give six million dollars to a guy you are pushing out the door after the season. I think he has alot more donor support still than many people think. And if he wins 12 big ten games I'm guessing they will be happy. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk Golfman25 1

There is no question there are reasons to get rid of him even if he manages a final four run this year. The program is in horrible shape in terms of foundation for it's future -- recruiting pipelines, player development, etc. But to the casual fan, the "true fan" if you will, wining in the now is the measure of the program. They don't look past that. So when we blew Atlantis, it put a cloud over the record which has everyone questioning whether they can compete in the Big. Nebraska showed it's still a work in progress. Stealing the PSU win was a step forward. We are really going to find out against U of I, Purdon't, and those Michigan teams. We steal this Iowa game, and they pick up two unexpected wins and are much closer to closing in on the 10+ Big wins needed. Hell, even I'll jump aboard, but right now I am "show me" first.

However, IF he ends up with top 25 results and a makes the tourney, the likelihood that he returns, and gets that extension goes up. Right now it's wait and see. Pagoda 1

Those were maybe even initial expectations but at iu goalposts always change. Even if he finished top 3 in the big ten I still don't see him doing anything in the tourney. He has been destroyed both times he made it. But if the Cooks and Scott's are happy that's all that matters. They will pony up again to buy another roster.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk
