Whether or not they begin to understand how that negatively affects the team as a whole due to eating up a coaches time who otherwise would or at least should be working his butt off to develop and build a winning program remains to be seen. Recruiting, player development, strategy development for beating your opponents, etc takes a ton of time and effort. I don't pretend to know how much access they want/require to cut a check but multiple people taking up the coaches time does not a winning program make. Do you want a winning team or access to the coach? Because you can't have both.

As far as the product we see on the court, a few changes I believe would make a massive difference. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong BUT our biggest pain point is our defense, or lack thereof, which stems from a lack of game planning and film study for scouting reports. Pi$$ poor planning provides pi$$ poor performance. Top teams are doing their homework on us and they will drown us in threes. Furthermore, we commit several senseless turnovers every game, which against good/great teams will result in giving up even more points in combination with our lack of defense. We cannot have multiple bigs on the floor at a time, as that results in more free threes as we have seen. We cannot rotate players in team a/team b style as we have seen historically from Woodson. You need a DEEP roster for that and even then it's not all that great in college ball. We are not consistent in our free throw shooting which is a lot of points left on the table and against better teams every point matters. There are other issues as well of course but those are the most glaring that will get exploited by better teams. 

Finally, we're now in a position where any coach we can potentially get is a risk. Stevens is highly unlikely considering where he's at and what he's doing now. Dusty May was more than likely our best option and those in charge passed on him and getting him to leave Michigan at this point is a toss up. If he has a great season this year, which is looking to be very likely, it may end up being fairly expensive to get him. McCollum has potential but there's a fair deal of risk there. 

Houston, we don't just have one problem, we have EVERY problem. Murphy's Law is our mantra right now, we need serious work to keep from sinking like the Titanic and duct tape and prayers aren't enough.

I almost certain that your assessment of the “potential” coaches situation is a little off.

I have not heard anything or even asked. I just took it that he was injured. I have not had the normal enthusiasm for basketball this season as years past. Some of it is because of Football and some of it is Woodson sucks

but…..UM beat Iowa at home by 2 and Dusty is being “crowned”. If IU won by two at home against Iowa the panic button would be worn out.

Winning at Wisconsin is about the same as our football team going to the CFP so I think we all would celebrate that.

Yes, that’s a lot different than a 2 point home win vs Iowa.

A seemingly impossible road game win at Wisconsin, however, would be celebrated. It’s crazy how we can’t get a win there.

At the risk of overgeneralizing, Minnesota is the definition of a one player team; Dawson Garcia's usage rate is insanely high. Garcia has taken 26% of the entire team's shots and has scored 29% of the team's points. 

It's nice to have Malik as a true scoring option that will make Garcia have to defend and potentially pick up fouls. We have plenty of guys to throw at him too. Would love to see Oumar take a turn defending him; that'd wear him out.

It is also going to be great fun watching Frank Mitchell and Parker Fox, both at 6'8" try to deal with Ballo.

I found out myself that he actually is hurt but there was a rumor about him getting into a heated argument and then taking a mental health leave from the team. Come to find out the argument happened but not the mental health leave.

Same here. If we lost in hoops, it used to bug me. This season, it's "Meh -- we lost. So what." ... I know this is over generalizing, but if the athletic department and administration don't care if we're terrible, why should I?
