You should talk to @Class of '66 Old Fart since I remember him threatening a while back to ban people for talking about a certain Butler ex-coach.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

I feel like an idiot now buying tickets against the mighty Moccasins on the 21st.  I should of walked up to the entrance and asked if they needed any extras in the stands and how much it paid.

If Dusty fails at Michigan (he won't) this fanbase won't want him.
If Dusty succeeds at Michigan (he will) they won't let him go.
I know he will never coach here now. I hope he fails because I can't stand the thought of missing out unless by some miracle we hire a better coach lol. That's unlikely as he'll though

I lived there ten years and went every year IU played. Thought for sure I’d see a winner at least once. Nope! That big lead that we blew in the second half in one of Woodys first years was a killer. We even left early to go get (more) drunk—that’s not frowned upon in Wisconsin—so thankfully I watched most of the collapse from the bar.

Lol…I think 99% of the coaches discussed on message boards the last twenty years haven’t come to fruition for IU. 
 

Sampson was kind of out of left field. Alford was probably the number one name fought about then. 
 

I feel like Crean leaked a few days early and people talked themselves into it. But he probably wasn’t in the top 10 of people discussed until then.  
 

Archie…maybe because he was the hot young coach. Still lots of Donovan/Stevens talk that year.  
 

Woody…. not even close.  
 

So I’m guessing whomever we hire next will not be a name on people’s wish list if the past is any prologue.

That loss to Loserville is going to keep getting worse for us! They lost Pryor a few days ago and now Johnson has elected to redshirt for shoulder surgery. Jeff Goodman says they are basically down to 7 now.

I love this... great progression... to get our guy... Not sure about the actual shot at Stevens, and that ship has sailed in my book, but sure, go ahead and ask ... but the Ben McCollum part made me spit my coffee!

The fix was in early on... after Woodson got passed over for Archie, Buckner would not have hired anyone but Woodson, IMO... and 4 years later we're still paying for that arrogance... 

We gotta get the next one right... IMO, that means one of these 3 guys in order:

  1. TJ Otzelburger
  2. Dusty May
  3. Ben McCollum

Harass them and throw money at them until they can't say "no".

With a low $5M buyout and IU's resources/benefactors, I doubt Michigan could stop us if it came to that.

I'd be okay with either Otzelburger or May. McCollum I'm less sold on.

I wouldn't complain about Pearl to right the ship for a few years. And a part of me would still love it if there was some way to pry Stevens away from Boston (I know, not happening).

We are not getting him from Michigan and at this point the risk wouldn't be worth it. Should have been last year but no. We need to find our guy now. Whoever that is. I am on the second chance Chris beard train but I don't care who it is as long as they win

Beard has gotten a second chance at Ole Miss, let's see if he avoids trouble. Good coach though.
