Any news if the egg Woodson laid this week has hatched yet?

Considering the size of that egg he'll struggle to sit for a while.

I think the serious thought is recruiting and transfer recruiting. I realize the warchest has appeal, but if Woody misses the tournament again which seems like a real possibility who is signing up to play for him?

I pray Dolson is doing his homework because the timing of our season ending and the portal will be critically important if we want to be in a position for success.

Essentially you need to hire a coach who can bring a roster with him.

Idk if it makes you feel better but I know Kentucky and Louisville went through multiple coaching options before they landed on their final one and they turned out ok replacing the majority of their teams. Michigan was relatively late in the cycle i think also. There’s so many players in the portal that all it takes is a good coach to identify what he wants and go after it quickly.

Well hopefully the fact that Coach cig has done what he has done in let me think.  Less than a freaking year.  Will possibly stop this non sense of how a coach needs to have 4 years of not showing a pulse before we make up our minds.

Only in the B1G Championship with a win today (shouldn't be hard) and a PSU loss. I think PSU has the tie breaker against IU.
Back on topic, Woodson isn't a good coach. That's why this thread stayed alive even during the offseason "win." All that talent would still be coached by Woodson.

So Bruce Pearl and Auburn last year could have been us this year? Amazing that we had many fans here who scoffed at the idea of moving on from Woody for Pearl.

More than likely the wheels are going to have to completely fall off for that to happen. I just don’t see it happening. Maybe a 5-10% chance.

Well I know Woodson has let us down before but I think he has it in him to deliver that.

It is Mike Woodson, don't underestimate just how bad he is; and this team hasn't had the seemingly yearly arrest yet.

So there's definitely a chance. He's neck and neck with Miller for worst coach in the last 25 years.

Pretty wild, and this would’ve been flamed as an objectively wrong hot take before this season started. We will see how it goes, and I hope this team figures it out despite the inherent obstacles, but if it’s a repeat of last year… he would be pretty clearly the worst coach we’ve had, Archie included. That would mean the golden era of his tenure, when he was truly Mediocre Mike, was entirely fueled by the excellence of Trayce Jackson Davis.
